A-League Mens 24/25 - Semi Final

The A-League clubs really need to reconsider their pricing. We all understand it’s struggle street for most of the clubs, but looking longer term, wouldn’t a crowd of say 15,000 paying an average of $25 a ticket be better than a crowd of 7,500 paying an average of $50 a ticket? Surely the 15,000/$25 crowd leads to better growth, sponsorship, tv deals, and overall financials?
You're assuming 50% cheaper tickets equates to double the attendance.
Technically it's possible, but unlikely IMO.

That only works if a team is winning. Most leagues around the world have tried this with minimal effect.
I’m sure that’s true. I know the APL set the prices not the clubs for the finals, but for example for the WWS v Vuck game last week, my friend would have gone with his family if the prices were not $260 for a family pack (there were probably some cheaper tickets available but that’s what WSW emailed to him).

That $260 must be for some premium package in Cat A or B seats.
For the MV v ACK game a family ticket (2 adult / 2 kids) in Cat C is $95.

Anyone gonna watch tonight's match? Ill tune into the game in the 2nd half.

Ehh man it feels like COVID restrictions at the match like the venue can only have 4k max

that was really one side game in the end. Would take a miracle from here

good thing for botic I suppose who can come to the training came only 4 days late

Genuine disgrace that crowd. This HAS to be the catalyst for a change of thinking on ticket prices.

Only opening a third of the stadium for two melbourne teams in a semi final is beyond poor.

Football is just not a threat to any other code in this country at the moment.

Lets see how Saturday game goes in Melb, If they cant crack 12k let alone 10k something has to change.

The game was often hectic and didn't relax into a normal flow for quite long periods of time with a better (more competitive/combative) first half for the neutral to enjoy the swings of the game.

Both teams played some good football and set up their chances but City were just playing at a higher level overall where Western surged and slumped.

Tilio's running on the ball is fantastic to see, the quality of Cohen's strike was top class and I think it is a bonus too see Leckie get out there and put one away.

Without a clinical finish for their decent chances earlier on Western were in trouble, and you would have to give City good odds for winning the aggregate however well Western play next week. A week in football can change the world but where Western could simply come back and win the next match I can't see them putting three more than City away. Score one and create some nerves. Score two and what a tense game that would set up. Score three and it is time for MCG to wake up - he is having a nightmare and it isn't real.

I thought it odd that the stadium lights did their pulsing dance when City scored though - for a Western home game it didn't support the 'home' team at all to have the goal celebrated that way.

Glad you had a good night MCG. Your team played well in a big game.

I am wondering, irrespective of this game, if Vidmar has hit his straps as coach now, and how much of the good play is the City group influence with their organisation, structure and financial support. The quality is still on the pitch despite the injury list but I don't think it is just down to the team buying all quality in the squad in the first place - the parts all still have to work properly together.

How long does this league need to be held up by Victory??

Luckily Auckland have come in hot this season.

I could not be more disappointed at this finals series so far. Even the WSW crowd was low last week.
