What’s your big point exactly? So your following a ‘broadbased’ team(as obv I do too) somehow makes you morally-superior to a ‘monoethnic’ one, is that it❓
Just let individuals follow the clubs that they want to/feel represent them, FFS - it’s really not that hard💡

As for the ‘pro/rel in the NSL-era’ bit, it failed simply because there was no national second-division to buttress the top-flight and state leagues, nothing more. Thankfully now w/the Championship, that won’t be a problem again.
I think the NSL equivalent to "tall Poppy" is "tall wogsy syndrome"?

My point was that those in powers decided to move from monoethnic clubs to one broad-based, agree or that was the decision.

I allow individuals follow the clubs of their choice & do not feel 'morally-superior' to any individual or what the club they follow.
Helps if you read what I'm saying. I did NOT make the decision & I'm not saying it's right.
I'm only providing my own experience. I've had many conversations with the poster Monoethnic social club & know he is passionate football fan & feel sorry that his club with a rich history & lots of passionate supporters is not in the top tier of football in this country. My experience being despite being ethnic, I didn't feel connected with the Monoculture clubs of the NSL & I'm a passionate football fan.

My experience in the NSL was go to a Sydney Olympic home game it was 90% Greek Australians, go to a Marconi/Apia home game it was 90% Italian Australian, go to Sydney Croatia game it was 99% Australian Croatians

Not in the 80s & 90s my friend.
My maths must be wrong then.... unless you dont consider Greek Australians, Italian Australians or Croatian Australians as full citizens?

That decision certainly suits you and others that support the new clubs but excludes the rest of us ... isn't it time for this division to change?

Yes & again my point, you are telling me this, what is point? I'm not in a position to change it.

When you had it your way in the NSL where we had Monoculture clubs, did I bag you or your club, it was Soccer Australia that I had issue with.
Like I said above following football for 50 years & you blame administration for the last 20 years for where football is in this country.
I blame administration of the last 50 years. I see no change despite change & the APL is as bad as the SA.

Now, please I'm talking NSL, not NPL, since the A-League, the only NPL games I attend is Manly United and we in God's country & no nationalities here just us peninsulaites.

The Sutherland Shire is “God’s Country” mate!

Fair points, but what makes you think that my issue (or anyone elses) is with the franchises and NOT the franchise system?

Have you seen our coastline compared to yours, Manly to Palm beach!!!:ROFLMAO:

Well the negativity is quite strong & while the criticism maybe valid, the critic is quite often cough, cough Western United.
Sorry you've lost me there... Western United? Are they still around? hahahahaha

Anyway, if you cant see that WU are/were/and will always be a realestate deal USING football to make money only to disgard it as soon as the ghost town development is done by now ... I guess nothing will convince you....

WU isnt even good enough to be deemed a "franchsie" mate.... its a sham.... Hurts your league and your club 10000 x more than mine.

I’m teasing. True, both have great coastlines and natural beauty. But I think the “God’s Country” moniker comes from the mostly white Anglo-Saxon residents no?

Shhh don't tell anyone, they may call us racist.

Soz off topic Kitwally, from my recollection its the chip on the shoulder shire-ites who named their side as such having a inferiority complex of the utter beauty the northern beachs has compared to haha :)

I'm a bit over the gatekeeping of clubs and shitfighting, really. I wish we could all be accepting of others and that all types of clubs are welcome in the beautiful game. Franchises, monos (if you call it that), there's always room for all and no need to keep putting each down. They all have a place and serve a purpose. Plenty of mistakes have been made but let's not pray for failure. We really need to move forward together.
