ALM/W TV deal

I'm a bit over the gatekeeping of clubs and shitfighting, really. I wish we could all be accepting of others and that all types of clubs are welcome in the beautiful game. Franchises, monos (if you call it that), there's always room for all and no need to keep putting each down. They all have a place and serve a purpose. Plenty of mistakes have been made but let's not pray for failure. We really need to move forward together.
Awesome, so when do all clubs (they APlLcalls them franchises mate, not just me) get access to the Aleague????

yep and yep in bold and HG, its NPL Clubs monos was so so yesteryear.

Soz off topic Kitwally, from my recollection its the chip on the shoulder shire-ites who named their side as such having a inferiority complex of the utter beauty the northern beachs has compared to haha :)
Well, both are beautiful. Not from the Shire, but am from southern Sydney. For me Cronulla’s beaches, and the Boat Harbour to Bass & Flinders/Salmon Haul walk is a lot more beautiful than the Eastern suburbs’ Bondi, Coogee, Maroubra, and the Northern beaches’ Manly etc

Funny is that this argument all along 'get rid of the wogs'
I followed this game since 1974 heroes captured my young imagination at the WC.
I thought the idea was not to get 'rid of the wogs', of which I'm one, just not the right one for the NSL.
My experience in the NSL was go to a Sydney Olympic home game it was 90% Greek Australians, go to a Marconi/Apia home game it was 90% Italian Australian, go to Sydney Croatia game it was 99% Australian Croatians go to a SFC game it's Aussies, Greeks, Italians, Croatians, Kiwis, English, Serbians, Dutch & they even let this little Portuguese guy in.

Now, please I'm talking NSL, not NPL, since the A-League, the only NPL games I attend is Manly United and we in God's country & no nationalities here just us peninsulaites.

BTW did the NSL have pro/reg, that's the other bugbear of ethnics.
Yet again I call bullshit mate ( havnt you previously stated you went to one game?) All of a sudden you re more travelled around the old NSL than Johnny Warren!

Your argument continues to remain mute though, bc at no point do i imagine you were made to feel unwanted or were excluded, otherwise we wouldnt hear the end of it!!

I think it is time for this whole argument to remain "mute", at least in this thread. Isn't it supposed to be a thread about the tv deals?

Yeah the word doesn't bother, they ARE franchises haha. But it's the thinking that they don't belong or serve a purpose, a people, a market etc. Same with NPL clubs. Everyone's fighting over the right to exist, it's not right and a waste of energy.

As you mentioned, we should be focused on bringing it all together. Get shit done for the greater good. We should all want a connected pyramid, it's long overdue. Having a closed league initially served a purpose, but leagues should've started coming together a decade ago. With APL really struggling now, I feel we've missed that boat for a few more years.

It's now July 2025, any updates on the Championship, the 3rd RFP, next year's league structure, tv etc.? Feels like we're in quicksand. The sooner it gets going the better. It won't take long for the pyramid deniers to see the top Championship team should go up to A-League. The APL won't choose to connect (unless clubs have bags of cash), it would have to be people powered and knocking down the doors of FA.

People have to see it to believe it. When we see a Preston selling out each fortnight and on top of the Championship, and a Roar sucking year after year in front of only the diehards, the voices to connect the pyramid will be deafening. But another year passes and no NST league. If we don't hear about a league structure for 2026 soon, then it will be another year wasted. It's the next biggest step to growing together.

which for @Keeper66 benefit of keeping the thread going is WHAT will drive a half decent deal... Unity is the only way..... APL standing alone will never propser on it own .. neither will Championship/NPL/ Socceroos/Matildas. it ALL has to be under one banner... and to do that this conversation around acceptance and exclusion needs to be had....

Fair enough. I was mainly just trying to be a smartarse around the word "mute".

Well said

Well he’s at least making sense for the apl but gets bagged - typical.

In the meantime here’s another article about franchise system that can only go so far people don’t see here.
Reads pretty similar despite the money differences it’s about looking ahead and competing.
