Seems to be the norm in Europe. I don't know how people feel a connection to a team with no locals playing for them

Yeah I saw half of last week's match and his teammates were selfish, everyone out there to make a name for themselves.

The majority seem to be subscription based. SRF is the public broadcaster so maybe it's possible with a vpn. It's interesting how many different Swiss services broadcast.
