Sign Up Now!Yeah mate, as a fan I totally understand your take...At 17 he had already debuted for Leeds in the EPL shortly before his Socceroos debut I believe. You're correct that England would not have looked at him for a debut like we did at that age, but if he had a different attitude he could easily have been persuaded to decline the call up, similar to the Volpato situation.
I don't think it is really misguided ultranationlist stuff on playing for the jersey as you put it. Playing for the Socceroos does require a tangible commitment of time and energy, you want players who will buy in and commit to the process. If Triantis is someone who was put out by being overlooked, even for Bratten, he isn't what we need. But I really doubt that is the case, he just made the best decision for himself as you said.
My head says he made the right choice for himself, where his heart lies and good luck to him. My heart says fuck off because I wanted to see him play for us.
Jordan Bos and Feyenoord have dropped down to the Europa League league phase after losing their Champions League third qualifying round League Path tie against Fenerbahce 6-4 on aggregate, and have been placed in pot 1 for the draw based on their club coefficient. Is j bos in Europa league?
The more I think about the Kewell report was probably when he was about to go England with the Marconi junior team. Probably SBS or the ABC.I think it was an old TWG panel interview with Johnston. The surfing for England comment was about the lack of seriousness in Australian football, not his desire to play. My memory is a little fuzzy about this but I believe he made himself available for matches and was then shafted by the FA, made to pay for his own flights or something which made it completely impractical for him to do it.

How true this is who really knows. But he never did play for England or Scotland, which he was eligible to do.
Fran Karacic scores for Hajduk in Extra Time. Currently 1-1 and 3-2 for hajduk on agg.
Honestly when we have to start trying to persuade players to play for us .. i don't want them anywhere near our NT. You either want to play for us or you don't. When the going gets tough you really think flakey people like this will put in the hard yards for this country?? Fuck no!
I don't care if they are a superstar. Give me the player that loves this country and wants to play for this country and nothing but.
Don't blame Poppa.
