I don't think it is really misguided ultranationlist stuff on playing for the jersey as you put it. Playing for the Socceroos does require a tangible commitment of time and energy, you want players who will buy in and commit to the process. If Triantis is someone who was put out by being overlooked, even for Bratten, he isn't what we need. But I really doubt that is the case, he just made the best decision for himself as you said.

My head says he made the right choice for himself, where his heart lies and good luck to him. My heart says fuck off because I wanted to see him play for us.

My memory is a little fuzzy about this but I believe he made himself available for matches and was then shafted by the FA, made to pay for his own flights or something which made it completely impractical for him to do it.

How true this is who really knows. But he never did play for England or Scotland, which he was eligible to do.

The more I think about the Kewell report was probably when he was about to go England with the Marconi junior team. Probably SBS or the ABC.
 
Seems Sapsford got a secondary assist with a tidy flick. This is how goals are created in Asia. Tight space, shoot, parry, slot.

Completely agree. Players come and go and there are plenty of options. I don't think anyone should blame Popa, even though I don't rate him as a coach, and certainly not for our national team.

TBH I would be surprised to see Triantis become a regular for Greece, but good luck to him.
 
Zach Sapsford started and was subbed at half time as Dundee United lost to Rapid Wien 2-2 (4-5 Penalties) in Round 3 of Confrence League Qualifying.  Ryan Strain was unavailable through injury.

Fran Karacic played a full game and scored, Anthony Kalik started, recieved a yellow card and was subbed in the 59th minute for Hadjuk Split who lost 3-1 A.E.T. to Dinamo City in Round 3 Conference League Qualifying. Noa Skoko was not in the squad.


Noah Botic came on in the 76th minute for Austria Wien in a 1-1 (4-5 aggregate) loss to Banik Ostrava in Round 3 of Confrence League Qualifying.

Giuseppe Bovalina was an unused substitute for Vancouver Whitecaps in a 2-2 draw with Forge in the Semi Finals of the Candian Championship.
 
just got reminded off forum that Markus Walker is eligible for us and we should probably track him as he is getting game time at a young age

born 2006 and getting regular minutes in denmark for a promoted team
