On a portsmouth podcast the panel were impressed by Segecic highlight reel but then said "you could do the same thing with Silvera and we all know what happened to him".

Segecic surely on another level though

Silvera isn't a bad player. He did decent things at Boro. Given his low base, he achieved above a pass mark. He was spectacular at the Mariners.

The young AA at Portsmouth can play well already but imagine them in 18 to 24 months if they kick on with their talents.

The point is fair that they make re Silvera - BUT Silvera has scored 20 goals in his career and Segecic nearly hit that across all competitions last season.

I get the feeling that Segecic's ability already supersedes Sammy's and this upcoming season will show just where some of our best young talent sits against the rest of the worlds football pedigree. Exciting times..

It's do-or-die for an Aussie in Italy ⌛

After weeks of delays due to financial troubles and health problems surrounding the squad, Australia international Ajdin Hrustic and his U.S. Salernitana 1919 side will finally know their fate later tonight local time as they battle for survival in the Italian second tier.

Heading into the match, Salernitana have a two-goal deficit to overturn if they are to have any chance of staying up in the Lega B competition. They went down in the first leg 0-2 against Sampdoria in Genoa. A draw on aggregate will be enough for Salernitana and Hrustic to stay up as they finished higher on the competition ladder at the season's conclusion.

Salernitana take on Sampdoria at 20:30 local time.
