Australia open 2025

I'm guessing this event will once again be dominated by Damir's daughter aka the cheeseburger queen?

Can't wait.

Hopefully Margaret Court will also make an appearance

Wooohooo bring on the flares and effnik tensions........
haha I'll be right in thick of it got 2days at the AO, plan to hang at the active area with the Italian/Cro/greek well behaved support :)
Hopefully one or 2 of our ethnic aussies go deep and the doubles.

Bought tickets for two of the days during the week. I hope to watch some of the lower-ranked Aussies if they qualify. Maya Joint remember the name. An absolute star in the making.

Good on him
Look forward being there but Hope it’s Not Stinking Hot temps

The United Cup is on, and plenty of Aussies are in action. If you're in Perth might be worth a look.

Brisbane International wrapping up and I would be shocked if Novak wins this. He seems a bit off the pace.

AO Qualies
Adelaide International (WTA 500, ATP 250)

Both on now on 9Now. Get around it!

I don't get the Adelaide international doesn't it end the day before the Australian open?
Yes. It is an ATP250 and a WTA500 so it's for those just below the top ranks to get some points. Brisbane was as well. The tennis schedule is packed but you don't have to play in everything. Hobart is a WTA250. So if you're tactical and you are a woman you would skip Adelaide and go to Hobart instead, then go to Melbourne and probably bail out early and prepare for the next 250 or 500 tournament instead. If you are a higher rank and you go deep into the tournament like Djokovic or Sinner you would skip the 250's and 500's and focus on the Grand Slams which are 2000's.

ITF tournaments are coming up which are 25's and 50's. In Victoria, they will play in Taralgon, Swan Hill and Mildura. I haven't seen the schedule yet but I assume it will be the same as last year.

Players will not pull out of grand slams unless injured. 250's and 500's they might due to recovery time and would rarely pull out of Masters. You usually have a lot of crossovers with a few 250's and 500's playing at the same time.

Thanks for explaining it.

I suppose there is a bit of strategy choosing tournaments. We're about to watch Maya in the semis now
