You beauty! The 12 year drought is finally broken and we finally back in a u20 World Cup!

Badolato's goal was special and will be talked about but Steven Hall's save to save the own goal was one of the best saves ive seen from a young Australian keeper in a long time.

Also to come back twice shows special heart and character, a great moment for Aus football especially with the youth.

Players born between 1 January 2005 and 31 December 2009 (inclusive) are eligible to compete in the tournament.

My nerves are absolutely shredded after watching that. What a HUGE win, coming from behind twice. So good!! A couple of ripper goals, some really decent passing play, and some massive saves by Hall! So pumped that we did it!

Hopefully Irankunda, Younis and Waddingham can be available for it, can you imagine the midfield 3 feeding them the service.

It should be an exciting team that we hope can do us proud on the world stage, for context we haven't won a game at a World Cup since 2001 so hopefully we can break that drought too!

The world cup selection is going to be uber competitive. There's some very good players not in this side at this tournament.

Quick glance. No most recent Olyroo eligible and Matthews misses out by a few months. Would love him to bolster the back.

Joeys are cooking Saudi Arabia right now. They're one team that I think are very strong as well and should make the U17 World Cup and do very well at full-strength.

Akol Akon with a hat-trick in the first-half.

One of the best under-age games I’ve seen in a long time.

Iraq were very slick early. That first goal was nothing short of world class.

The boys experienced a bit of adversity and showed a lot to stick to the game plan and drag themselves back into it.

Even before his goal, I was impressed with some of the things Badolato did. Has nice technique, good vision, bit of flair etc. Easy to overlook some of the kids not playing regularly in the A-League or on the books of European clubs. How is he not getting a game at WSW?

Everyone from the current squad eligible so no need to worry on that front.
Guys fighting to come in from the top of my foggy mind are Irankunda, Segecic, Waddingham, Goodwin (?), Leonard, Di Pizio.

A big shout out to Talladira as the unsung hero. Iraq targeted him and avoided Bennie all night and he was solid as a rock!
