I'd dispute that. When interviewed recently the main thing he talked about was how much faster he'd learned to be in moving the ball along in the Eredivisie.

He was already pretty quick by AL standards in my view.

The FIFA rules need to change. It's completely ridiculous to think that someone can be a citizen of a Country from birth and be ineligible to play for them. This isn't some ME team naturalising a 26yo Brazilian.

I'll die on this hill - but I reckon their lawyers explaining their regulations haven't written it very well, because the way I read the regulations, I see that as fair game. Not sure why they don't.
