Given Bennie and Bos are both wingers that can play full back can we see the return of guus Hiddink ball for the national team

Start the game with 3 centerbacks in a 3-4-3 with bennie and bos at wing then shift through the gears, with them moving to full backs in a 4-2-3-1 then subbing off a cb with them as wingbacks in the back 3 in the last fifteen minutes, where you have 2 wingers and 3 strikers to chase the game

was super effective and fun to watch

What an awesome feeling. I absolutely hate penalty shootouts and couldn't watch it 😅 what a relief that we beat the Saudis, i really cant stand there antics.

From memory

Bulut stood out in asia but struggled in the world cup
Oar stood out in asia but struggled in the world cup
Tombides looked good at the world cup
Amini stood out in asia and struggled at the world cup
Curtis good and Chapman stood out at both
Geria looked shaky in asia but stood out at the world cup
leckie didn't play in asia but looked ok in the world cup
mooy looked good in asia but we didn't make the world cup
Gameiro got a lot of goals but didn't look great in doing so for some reason
degenek and burgess looked solid
Segecic and bernando stood out in asia but we didn't qualify

curious if any others remember any players?
Dylan Tombides was different class. Was quite a few levels above what we were producing at the time.

I know we would have played it down if we lost, but fcuk its good to get over the line and win the trophy. I thought we were the better team for the most part, gave it a good crack in extra time as well whilst they were just booting it long.

Wonder what pics may make a good phone screen saver. Currently got Irvine holding back Mabil, Wright jumping and Mooy smiling as Redmayne saved against Peru. Was the best cut along the line.

Just looking at the Peru ones. So many frames. The relief and grit from Goodwin. Irvine refused to run but to confirm with the 4th official.

Karacic started a run looking like he wanted to cry. Just great and I'm sure we'll see some good images from the boys come through.

Was that our last ever match in that kit? What a way to go out.
I think so. I'd like to extend it to the world cup. We may warm up to the new one but this kit has seen a lot of record breaking.

New Aussie shootout hero Steven Hall is born as Young Socceroos win under-20 Asian Cup.

Led by inspirational player-of-the-tournament Alex Badolato and boosted at the death by the goalkeeping of Steven Hall, the team made up largely of teenagers, became the first Australian side to lift the continent’s junior crown in the tournament’s 66-year history.

How sweet it is.
