TBF councils time has come and passed. Their power needs to be stripped. They are an unnecessary third tier of government that a governing body can fulfill. They don't even need to declare allegiances either.

Expand the parliament instead.

Australia is too big for only two levels of Govt. We need local Govt to account for local needs, although we can argue about what powers they should have. We also need a level of Govt at state level to allow for the needs of hospitals, schools, police etc which won't be efficiently handled at a nationwide level.

You can use government agencies to do that. Councils aren't necessary and are extremely costly to have. The costs outweigh the benefits.

Nah, it will get plenty of coverage, thats the whole point of this dildos little stunt ... Generating outrage so they can respond with outrage.. Im sick of it. I personally dont give two shits if they fly their flags and agendas and causes.... but why the need to disrespect others?

They are STILL punishing homosexuality with the death sentance in large swathes of the muslim world and these heroes are just to afraid to get "the message out" ... its provocation on a soft target which is slowly but surely growing to accept their lifestyle choice... shooting fish in the barrel so to speak ...

Yeah I know but as you and I'm sure the resident right wingers here will tell you we're a majority Christian country AND no one born in Australia, unless you were moslem, would have next to bugger all with moslems.

It's not surprising they're having a crack at christianity which, in the main, would be the ones are the most antagonistic towards their life choices.

Yes I also think people are scared to have a crack at Islam which is just as much, if not worse, of an idiotic concept as christianity.

We're not literally killing them for their life choices whereas other religions do. I'm quite certain this is well known.

I'm not religious but I find the mocking of religion distasteful.
