Sign Up Now!Back in my day my old man told me shut the fuck up about religion and politics. You have not spoken out of line, mate.
It reminded me what a sensitive topic this discussion can be, particularly with you having a Jewish wife.
I've also been fascinated by your perspective, and others on here, about the Greens. I tend to be in political echo chambers, apart from when I doorknock , and leaflet. Many of my Green activist pals, are holier than thou.
Most of the Green MPs and political staffers, are quite dogmatic they are right. I think Green rank and file need to question the strategy of their MPs and strategists - mainly focusing on the Labor Party as the enemy. I'm elucidating what you and others have raised on here in Tas Climate Collective, national and Hobart Retired Unionist Networks, plus Educators For Peace.
The Greens have had a shocking election result. To hear views proffered from you, and others ( not Lupi and John Smith) on here, has been quite educational. I've valued your input.
And what. That union support isn't free.![]()

Football Fwiends
hahha beaten by 1 sec... lolFootball friend!!!!
I don't know about australia stats but in the usa the boomers have swung left and the gen z have swung right, especially compared to historical benchmarks which have older voters getting more conservativeI'm shocked, because I campaign with a lot of Baby Bs in progressive political causes - but overall our voting is decidedly conservative. We are great at boozing, but are appalling voters!
The over 65s in this election had about 65% two party preferred who voted LNP, but I can't remember accurately.
45 - 65 yo - 51% two party preferred voted LNP.
35 -44 yo - 57% voted Labor voted two party preferred!
18- 34 yo - 64% voted Labor two party preferred!
From a geriatric leftist political activist thanks to all those in the age groups under 45 who repudiated the LNP - and - Murdoch, plus the Institute Of Public Affairs and Rinehart!
Next time I laugh when I see a Millennial looking at their phone and with headphones on walking down the street, or young mothers looking at their phones whilst ignoring their toddlers and babies in prams , or too terrified to answer phone calls from real people, or sitting in groups in coffee shops all looking at phones, or pubs in groups all looking at phones, or in political meetings sneaking a look at phones under the table, I have a newfound respect for you.
You guys know how to vote! You've done the nation proud! I love Millennials for decimating the bad guys!
Sky attack dogs Credlin and Bolt are pissing into the wind, as is their boss, Murdoch.
Terminally online generationI don't know about australia stats but in the usa the boomers have swung left and the gen z have swung right, especially compared to historical benchmarks which have older voters getting more conservative
I think I saw some similar stats in canada

happening right at a time americans state they won't date someone with different political viewsNeed to breakdown those stats further. In the US girls are breaking left, blokes tend to vote more right. Not sure about boomers there but I'd be surprised if that's true.
In Australia Boomers overwhelmingly vote Liberal or National.
yeah interesting that the realignment in the usa isn't happening in ozFrom chat GPT and here's the source. (2022 election.)

Clearly shows the older you are the more likely you vote 'conservative'.
