Australian transfers 25-26 Summer

Bloke on the roar said this not sure how true:

offer received for kikianis from europe (falls short of the clubs valuations given his contract length)

*theres a $500K difference between adelaide and charlotte in terms of the sale of archie goodwin

*ariath piol is a transfer target – hes unsettled in america and is open to returning home to adelaide

*lachlan brooks agent asked if adelaide would be interested in resigning him – the answer was a very definitive no.

*bart vriends news appears to finally have gone public – i mentioned late last year on here, that veart was lambasted by faber when he dropped vriends for a match.

veart was under direct orders to not drop vriends – even if his form fell off a cliff, which it did. the club are open to releasing him from his contract or selling cheaply.

*dylan pierias may still leave the club, adelaide received a derisory offer for a german club that was immediately rejected due to the length of time left on his contract

SS seems to know his stuff………

A couple of more Aussies have gone to the Malaysian super league

Jordan Murray to DPMM
Elvis Kamsoba to Immigration
Hahahah I did a double take at Kamsobas transfer.....

Malaysian League is wild.

They have a team called Malaka and another called Immigration.... might have to watch a bit of it :)

Lachy Brook to Auckland now confirmed. You'd think they'd sign a visa striker to replace Mata and a local CB to replace Tommy Smith and that's their window done. They'll be right up there again this year I think

Apart from JDT (Johor Darul Ta’zim) who are very good and do well in the ACL, the rest of the teams play a very low standard of football. JDT are owned by the crown prince of Johor Bahru, have won the championship the last 12 years in a row because there’s no salary cap so the prince can spend what he likes so they have most of the Malaysian national team plus some good foreign players. The team that Jordan Murray signed for, DPMM, are from Brunei, they left the Singapore League and joined Malaysia’s league by agreeing to pay ALL the costs including flights of the visiting teams. Imigresen FC were promoted this season, and are owned by Malaysia’s Immigration Department. They kind of have P & R in the league, but not every season, it basically depends if the teams coming up can afford it (Brunei and Malaysia’s government can), and if teams in the top league fold or have financial troubles. This model could work in Australia! (Thinking of you Western United!)

This move feels like, at best, a lateral step for Goodwin, who clearly has a natural instinct for goal. Hopefully he thrives and uses this as a platform to secure a move to a top league. That said, there's a concern his career could stall, as we've seen happen with some other Australians in the MLS

All interesting news, MCB.

Given there is nothing in the mainstream media, keep posting it here, mate!

Well said.

Welcome to the forum, Hogie.

Informative post, K.

Ta.

Dec it doesn't matter if they pay more we can't be wanting to be a serious league but still lose players to Indian/Vietnam it's a huge problem
Agree with you.

By reporting Robbie S, or whoever opined this view in an article, I agree it is a massive problem.

However, coaching wise, Aurelio Vidmar has gained a lot by coaching in Thailand. It may not be a bad scenario for Aus coaches to develop in Singapaore or Malaysia? Or consider it a move sideways.

We have few pro coaching ops in Aus. Yet we have a very good coach education system.

Yeah that’s correct.

Although the ISL is about to collapse
Really?

We have quite a few coaches and players in the ISL.

When I travelled in India 45 years ago for a lengthy period of time, hockey was the next most popular sport after cricket. I'm told now by Indians, that football is easily the second most popular sport after cricket. Indian cricket is extravagantly rich and dominates global cricket.

I assumed the ISL would be cashed up? Years ago corruption, baksheesh, was rife. I expected the ISL to progress forwards like the Chinese league.

I like it, need to keep strikers confident. Needs to score 15-20 goals a season. No point going to Europe and scoring once in 20 games while trying to adjust to everything.
