"Stepan Bandera, a prominent Ukrainian nationalist leader during World War II. He was a key figure in the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), particularly the faction known as OUN-B, which he led. Bandera and his followers sought Ukrainian independence and initially collaborated with Nazi Germany, believing that the Germans would support their cause against the Soviet Union."
Could it be a situation of Bandera, not so much being a Nazi - but rather aligning with the Nazis out of convenience to fight against the Communist Soviet Union with the aim of achieving Ukraine independence? A bit like the U.S. England and Allies joining with the Soviet Union to fight the Nazis?
i.e. that doesn't make Bandera a Nazi?
