Long term thinkerIn the Conservative media, most are really happy with what Trump is doing overall. For example, among Republicans, Trump's approval rating usually is hovering around 90-95%.
This means, if ALL the news you're getting through your Media sources are that Trump is making one blunder after the other, and he's a total idiot etc. -- for example, that's the message you'd get if you just get your news exclusively from The AGE or the SMH - then you can use this moment to realise you are in an echo chamber.
I am overall positive about the U.S. tariffs, even though those tariffs might initially, in the short term, be detrimental to Australia. That is because, unlike most, I am a long term thinking. I think of consequences in 2 generations, 80 years from now. Very few people think long term. I do not want Australia, by the end of this century, to live in a world dominated by a Superpower that is a Communist totalitarian state.
I can see what Trump is aiming to achieve with the tariffs. The U.S. is vulnerable in 2025 because, for the last decades, greedy corporations have made the U.S. entirely dependent on a Totalitarian state as its main source of key products needed for the operation of society. For example, I once heard that the U.S. used to have 90% of its pharmaceuticals manufactured in a country that is belligerent to the U.S. in the long term.
What idiotic people would let their country become reliant on key supply from a totalitarian state that is belligerent to your country. I'll tell you who is so stupid: short-term thinkers whose only criteria for making decisions is maximizing shareholder profits.
Hence, I want the U.S. to reduce its vulnerability to a belligerent country holding it to ransom over key requirements, such as steel production, pharmaceuticals, rare earths etc. etc.
It's the same way I feel about Australia losing its core industries that are needed for the country to continue. What happens, in a few decades, if the shipping lanes in Asia are blocked by a belligerent country? Then Australia would be totally stuffed. We'd last a few months, and then have to surrender.

yes, the greedy wannabe dictator with his billionaire mates of convenience has the average joe, and not the corporation's interests at heart

Trump is motivated by extreme love for his country, and -- as he has admitted in interviews -- he believes God saved him during the assassination attempt so he could bring America back to greatness.
It is hard to belive an adult actually typed this without pissing themselves laughing.
Also nice to know god smeared the brains of a firefighter all over his wife and kids so Trump could save America

Which interestingly the clown above you refuses to explain why the firefighter deserved to die while saving the orange Mussolini.
Still, you're not going to get much logic out of a bloke that thinks dinosaurs and humans walked around together.
As I said, tsf, you are in an echo chamber. Trump isn't in this 2nd term to make money for himself. If you see what obstacles he had to overcome with the lawfare, and nearly being assassinated ... no one puts themselves through that just to make money. Trump is motivated by extreme love for his country, and -- as he has admitted in interviews -- he believes God saved him during the assassination attempt so he could bring America back to greatness.
See this CNN poll which shows "CNN Data Analyst STUNNED That Republicans Are Replacing Democrats as the Party That Cares About the Working Class (VIDEO)"

I agree with you when you say that Trump isn't in this to make money for himself, at least not totally. His major reason for being in this is that he is a narcissistic sociopath who believes that he knows everything and wants to go down in history as the greatest world leader ever. By the way, he doesn't give a shit about America and the American people, he just wants them to love him and vote for him.
As for Trump believing that God saved him from assassination, yeah Trump believes that in the same way that I believe the Easter bunny will deliver me shitloads of Lindt chocolate eggs this coming weekend.
You write that in a way that appears you 100% believe what you wrote -- with no consideration that you might have misread Trump.
I feel sorry for you, because you definitely apply that method - of treating people -- to everyone in your circle, particularly your family.
If you hear one side of the story against someone -- are you the type with withholds judgment until you hear the other side. No, you are not that type of person. Again, I feel sorry for you. Many people are hard-hearted like you.
There is a sense of justice, that when you hear damning things about a person, you wait to hear the other side. That's not you.
That is why Media is able to manipulate people - because the vast majority of people turn into a mob when hearing one side - and they do not have a sense of fairness to wait to listen to the other side.
The way you react to one side of the story in world events ... is the same lack of fairness you bring to your personal relationships. If you think that is a crazy statement, just ask the people close to you to give you feedback. Your true nature shines through in what you write anonymously on social media.
I think you are reading too much into it.So instead of just deflecting the bullet from Trump, he decided….
A - I think I’ll send it through this guy’s head
B - for an extra touch I will make sure half his head ends up on his family and they’re traumatised emotionally for the rest of their lives
If the tariffs remain in place (a day to day proposition at present) and USA does start to build factories and retool to become again a functioning industrial nation will there be that many jobs available to working class -people as many of these jobs will be done by robots. It will take at a minimum five years even start to rebuild the industrial base so trumpeted by Donald and associates as a principal reason for starting the tariff war.
It also should be remembered that many people in Western nations prefer to work in service industries-banking,insurance,tech businesses,etc-as they have obtained tertiary qualifications.Furthermore the types of industries that Trump want to encourage back are environmental despoilers not that he cares about that.
