Tottenham bought three 18 year olds and solanke who is solid but not world class. Terrible transfer window if your concern is results
Why Iā€™ve said bench is the key to challenge.
Got to have sound back up to change games especially when down otherwise not much hope.

Johnson, Werner, Sarr arenā€™t going to take Tottenham to that next level
Johnson has had plenty of scorer points this season. He's handy.

Of course, the plan would be for Spurs to have a comfortable UCL level squad.

Sarr is fading while Werner will not emulate his Leipzig days.

Ange will be able to convince top players so it's a matter of clearing out more deadwood like last summer.

Not entirely comparable but I remember when Dortmund basically had a team of 88 borns and Klopp built then into that great side. That was 09 and then it was a 2013 UCL final and most were at the 2014 WC.

There have been observations how Ange's young singings will be good after years of development.

I have no idea what kind if thinking Levy has. Is he a long term type? Doesn't seem so.

Ange has a dark vibe this season, reminds me of some of his days in Oz. Like he's not being supported from above, by fans, or media... He takes a lot of heat for his players. Hopefully another club is asking about him.

Johnson is handy Iā€™m just not convinced heā€™s at that elite level to win a title.

It just seems like the spurs job isnā€™t worth it. They have so much expectations but their owner wonā€™t spend 200m buying a couple world class players

Spurs strategy seems to be buying 40m good players and hope they turn out world class

A title would suggest any trophy, which is possible. The EPL itself is that hotly contested that something really big would have to happen for Spurs to get near.

Yet this season we've seen City's demise and it can happen so quickly. A lot of teams beating each other so perhaps a bit of a balancing out. Wish Ipswich had won today.

I don't have the numbers but I think many around that price range can turn out to be world class. Money isn't exactly and issue for EPL clubs so they can throw 100+ at players but you've got to watch the egos too.

I think there are many excellent players available in Portugal, France and other places where the 40 mark would be an appropriate return for the investment those clubs made in development.

And that's why Ange will walk. I think he's got a personal time limit and if he can't be given the space to realise what he wants then he'll go.

He was given that in his last two roles. Different circumstances but the set up in Australia for the national team was his reasoning for going. He'll do his hard yards but he doesn't have time to deal with poor set ups.

Given what he's shown he can do with a bunch of rabble, there'll be suitors.

This is such a beat up its not funny and a absolute joke the UK FA can't close this chpater due to all the $$$$ citeh have to keep fighting the charges.
This from the article :
Therefore, it could be March - or later - before a decision by the commission is made public. As soon as they have reached their conclusion, it will be published.

Even then, if the commission decide City are guilty of some or all of the charges against them, the club would likely appeal that decision, which would further delay the imposition of any sanctions or points deductions.

So maybe March 25 more to come out AND citeh will have allowance again to appeal.

This is a total joke on football admin overall.

Didnt REALLY expect anything less though did you?

nope not really, sign of the times.
The English FA don't have the resource like citeh, I read somewhere citeh have like 7 lawyers or more on this job.
What can the FA muster up, not much hence the lag and typically laws allow appeal after appeal.

Fulham take lead at Anfield. Bit confused how a 1,92cm keeper doesn't command his box and also have the reach to parry the albeit deflected shot.

An excellent example of how VAR is too involved for the Robertson red card there.

What I mean is, years back, the linesman doesn't signal an offside (in fact he was on) without green line the skewed angle makes it look offside. The ball is nudged along despite the Robertson foul, ref should just let ball roll and Jimenez plays advantage and the ball is the dead and that's that.

Alas, it was broadcasters, pundits, coaches and fans moaning injustice there is in the officiating. Years ago no one bat and eye lid at things like that. It all became more apparent when broadcasters and pundits started focusing on every little thing and bringing it into question. There's too much watching on what just happened rather than where the ball is now 2 seconds later. Players, officials and broadcasters got on with it.

Had we just viewed that scene at face value, that doesn't even need a bloody TV replay, we move on and the game is played without any apparent injustice.

Wilson nudging it on despite being clocked is fair advantage, as in other sports and Robertson there could be warned or given a yellow for the late timing.

Interesting season so far. Apart from Liverpool, there haven't been many consistent teams. Even Liverpool are starting to get dragged back.
