FIFA Club World Cup 2025

yep agreed re some games been great viewing especially many you don't see whatsoever.
Yes its been bagged out but I can't do anything about it just happy to watch more football !

you know if they do make the 32 team club world cup every two years (or expand it to 64 teams) then that is enough intercontinental matches to have a global elo ranking

we could finally get an answer to the age old question - where would a league clubs be in the uk football pyramid :D

Not sure about UK, but Seattle could easily beat most A League clubs.

well another big scalp for club Brazil !
and dominated possession 52 to 48.
Got talent and inspired by Danilo and Jorginho.
68min red card to Chelsea, at that stage down 2-1 after being 1 up from 13th min, think they lost their cool haha

Saw bits of Auckland Benfica.
They hang in put up a fight as you would, in the end can't expect anything else from them 6nil loss.

11am koff Boca vs Bayern - another interesting match up to keep an eye on.

sorry got it now.
Seems you have ? then again could be many things.
Euro leagues maybe more competitive, Chelsea fatigued over a long hard season ?
Timezone ? I always question it tbh, most are young fellas, cushy travels looked after very well, the only question I'd consider is climate diff to get used to and diff atmosphere to get used to and the pitch itself.
Which side wanted it most - stats can't tell you that.
Another was Maresca out foxed by Luis plain and simple.

One of the things many don’t realize about Brazil over last 5-10 years is just how powerful the top teams have become financially.

Ten or twenty years ago the assumption was that they were good because they stood atop the biggest domestic talent pool, but were financially shaky and constantly needed to sell players to try to stabilize themselves. Basically a little bit of a mess on the business/management side.

Top Brazilian teams are now all owned by billionaires - some foreign (rules around this were relaxed) - some Brazilian businessmen and entities. By all accounts very well run with regard to finances, analytics, scouting, etc. They do not need to sell - of course they do to compete - because Europe offers top dollar and they can reload domestically and from other South American countries - but not to keep the lights on. They can also spend serious money - at a different level than MLS or LigaMX teams.

One sports journalist I keep tabs on is Tim Vickery - a brit long living in Brazil. He’s been banging on for the past few years on how rich Brazilian clubs are increasingly dominating Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamerica. They now snap up the brightest stars from Argentina and other SA countries that Europe can’t get first. Argentina is falling behind relatively in club football because their clubs absolutely do need to sell to make budget.

ah huh Marmont, so its recovered.
I've had discussions with Graz sometime back about Brazil and I found reasons of the regression has been grass roots and developing costs have been too high for the average fam for starters.
Building development taking away many of the street grounds and spaces kids would play many things like this re development having been very stifled.
I get it at the top end sounds like as you've mentioned new investros have come in and spent up, glad to see I just hope we see the next Pele's/Ronaldo/Zicos etc more than these rich owners buying imports.
