FIFA Club World Cup 2025

At least the goalless draws have been entertaining and some beast keeper saves. Seeing the games coming up it's just another interesting set of line ups but the tournament is essence is a shit show.

Country and stadium too big. Europeans wouldn't go for it though. I don't think a German summer tournament would be a hit unless tickets were dirt cheap.

Unlikely but what if a non UEFA CONMEBOL wins? I like the other confederations trying. To be fair everyone has given it a go so far.

Yes, that's a fair point - which is why I personally am open to an expanded Club World Cup, but I don't think the way they've done this one perfectly fits it, and has made it a mickey mouse competition by being a bit too over saturated. A middle ground would be perfect (Somehow) - probably that 24 team format I floated, and maybe bi-annual instead of quadrennial.
in the meantime I'm cheering for every non euro team, south american teams in particular so it helps me get a bit invested in the tournament

Agree I’m doing the same for I enjoy the latinos and small country clubs involved even though against clubs I know well and watch.
I am just enjoying there’s football still to watch tbh.
I see not much point going on about the politics for it’s out of own hands.

Buzzing atmosphere watching River P Urawa replay.
Always liked river plate kit with the red diagonal stripe.
I think you may have posted in the wrong thread @LFC hehe

Have seen their new away kit - looks nice as well

And FT 1-1.
Looked close game overall well done by them considering the RM line up.
TAA first game in white for them 😞
Inzagi first big money ball as Hilal mangr.
Wonder how long he’ll last.
I’ll suss out Juve game when on later this morning.

TAA had a shocker lol
Trent on the back of his Jersey, is he from punchbowl?
yer I saw his rating haha
He's quoted re Trent only on back is to avoid confusion what to call him now that he is away from the mother land hahaha

10-man Man City got a 2-0 win in their opener against Wydad AC at Lincoln Financial Field. Rico Lewis sent off in the 88th minute in what was Bernardo Silva's first game as the new City captain.

correct - hang in Botafogo 81st min.
Just 27% possession at this stage.

This is getting real close to a huge cupset.
90min + 6 still 1up.
Some risky desparate tackles by the brazillian side hanging on.

I couldn't help but pull for Botafogo - they wanted that so bad. Fingers crossed for some good South America - Europe duels in the knockouts. A rematch of this game would be fun.

yes agree feel the same, enjoy seeing Davids getting up over Goliaths !
25% possession what a feat against a strong PSG line up.
Bota face Atleti next another huge one.

By the way welcome Marmont.
