2. How can we spread the good word of this forum without getting banned anywhere haha?
This is a tough one.
Pasquali was banned from somewhere for advertising G and G's existence.
There must be some Roar and Reddit posters here. From what I've read I think they'd go well, despite being a bit anti- NSD and hostile to the old NSL and ethnic clubs. Waz is on Roar. He posted a lot on 442/IS, then disappeared. I'm pleased we have recruited No Mates n back, after perplexingly being banned on 442.
I've been slack about contacting via text old 442 posters, Benjamin and Arthur. I think Mono knows both through South Melb active fans. Might give them a buzz.
Whirlpool
1. Given permission by the Mod who adjudicates in Cricket, to post an ad for G and G, but other Mods might take severe action. Plus there are some annoying blokes there I don't want posting here (not as bad as deliberate Anarchy trolls on here though, who thankfully get banned for periods and one can Ignore them). Whirlpool is an enormous forum. We've recruited a few Cricket specialists on the the G and G cricket thread, like Richie and Rimac.
2. Book readers - after the Mod panel had a discussion re my request to advertise G and G for readers, they thought it broke Whirlpool rules. I've started PMing a few posters. The difference is here on G and G there is more freedom and we can have authors conduct Q and A with books they've written.
There also has been a pleasant surprise, how a number of current G and G posters are avid readers themselves, and write even better reviews than most Whirlpool posters! We don't need them as much as I thought!
Whirlpool won't let authors promote books and conduct Q and A with forum members - which participants want. An enticement to post here. One has to post for a long time on Whirlpool, before one can start threads, which is not an issue on G and G.
3. Weight Training thread - it is going so well and everybody on it is friendly and helpful to each other, no need to move from Whirlpool!
Some football and cricket mates I know off forum, would not want to post online, when they get sufficient access offline. Others are addicted to FB.
Heaps of political activists, are so busy campaigning on the ground, can't imagine they want to post more online with a few threads here, and discuss their very different views from John Smith and Lupi!
