General 2024/5 A League Men's thread

Does anyone thinks their licence will be taken over, either soon or after a few years? Seemed like an ok idea with housing and stadiums and community growth, but they've done f all on the ground after many years.

it sounds like they are facing the supreme court with a wind down order in a couple of weeks mate... unless some sort of white knight investor appears from thin air... Some pretty shonky dudes are going to lose their shirts over this... The council wont have any issues finding another property group to flog the land too (and they'll be stupid not to let it go cheap considering the infrastructure the council has already funded) the kicker is that they may not bundle the "Werribee Wembley" land and associated franchise entertainment team to the new investors... depends on who they are.

The only thing I don't understand is why the team is winning? You'd think If the team was going to get benoited they would be losing???
What has one thing got to do with the other mate? Players are just employees.... do you stop turning up for work if your company is in the shitter? If anything, even if the players can see the writing on the wall, they would wanna perform to their best in the hope of being picked up by another club.

I'd expect the opposite. The players would be thinking that they need to put in the absolute best performance because they could very well be looking for a new club in the off season. A player performing well is always going to get more and better offers. That's where my mind would be if I were in their boots.

Taking the kids down to watch the Wanderers play McArthur at campbelltown. Where is the best place to park?

I was looking on google maps, do you guys think it would be safe to park my car down a random street close to the ground?

Thanks in advance :)

Whilst there is the West Tigers club next door ( nothing to do with Macarthur ) they tend to either block it off a couple of hours before play so that only members of the club can park there. There is a multi story carpark next door to the club though and also the Leumeah Hotel carpark you can park or on the other side of the railway station there is a fucking huge carpark which you can use. All of those options are free btw. All depends on what time you get there, last game of the season I'm sure alot of people will rock up.

It is looking bad for Western United. Odds on to be down to 12 clubs, I reckon - and its not looking good for the Bulls either. Frankly, we all know that neither club should have been given entry to the competition.

Central Coast not looking great either. Rumours on social media today saying that until they are sold they are no longer allowed to renew any contracts or buy any new players. As well as more budget cuts across the whole club.

Hasn't that owner rejected a bunch of offers? Really weird stuff, is he waiting for some unrealistic offer?
