Hahaha one of the most awkward moments of my life was I wanna say, 40 or more years ago, I cant remember what the match was but it was a typical 3am match for something, Dad made us both a cup of coffee and came and woke me up for the match... both in the living room, 10-15mins before kickoff (not much prematch stuff back then) SBS gets turned on and first scene is a couple of guys railroading a pretty young thing, I mean absolutely going to town...... Dad just coughs... and gets up (no remote, what are we rich?) and changes the tellie to some infomercial and muttered something about "looks like the game isnt on yet" ... HAHAHA to this day I still laugh about it and have been giving him shit for 40 years. hahahahahha love SBS.
 
I seen a few people in different football shirts lately. Used to be epl teams but now you get all types of shirts

The "bloke core" stuff became a trend in I want to say late 2022, but It really took off summer of 23-24. Its a lot of vintage / throwback jerseys witch is a whole new market booming in itself. Lots of cashed up casuals dropping $150+ on a jersey.

Eh fashion, just like music and most pop culture in general, is cyclical things go out and come back forever and a day.

Im hanging on until tear away addidas tracksuit pants and kung fu shoes come back into style... Ill be the biggest hipster mofo on this site :P

My god you just shake your head how friggin high participation of football is makes me damn frustrated that we keep staying in quick sand to capitilise on this from Jnr levels up.
Like Maccas taking advantage to draw kids in, happy meals etcetc, HTF we can't get this game together to draw in a good % to support NPL games let alone the NST one day........

By the way for those afl eyed ones having a go at the 2 states on the east - look at the participation stats on NSW/Qld compared to you lower and to the west of you States.
Keep telling youse, those 3 states are the cancer always have been ! :)
You should pray it doesn't grow too big NSW/Qld for IF/when they get stronger strangle hold above gonna grab even more $$$'s we will never get not that we get much anyway from Gov's.
Our game will never get where we wish whilst nothing occurs to change the game beneath for the APL one isn't going to make the inroads we need.

Yeah interesting one. Do you know if the Aussie Rules counts 9-a-side, or if football counts 5-a-side, futsal, walking football etc?

I don't know. I suspect it probably does include those things, as looking at the AusPlay website it doesn't appear to have those categories (futsal, etc) listed.
