James Johnson suit wearer interviewed on talksport

yeah that certainly was an example I had in mind, but its the only one I've been aware of in 20 years

when I did a write up on financials, the fa spent 1% of their budget on grassroots compares to about 3-5% for state feds (still very poor!) which is why I'm curious
Like any public service they are beuroclaritcally blaoted and I agree they should be streamlined to cut costs. But they DO need to exist to arbiture and run all of the football programs in each state.... Who else is gonna hand liitle MSC a dressing down every time he gets a red card ... :) I spent to many times in the old VSF house as you can tell :)

I'd like a standardized imperium system. Everyone votes for the level above them

Members vote for the club board
clubs get a vote weighted by the number of playing participants for district boards
district boards get a vote weighted by playing participants for the state board
state boards get a vote weighted by playing participants for the fed board

gives incentives to grow the participation rate at all levels (which is remedial despite so many claiming it is high)

clubs, at least down here, are screaming at the lack of representation in decision making.... except for one particular club who has a family member in power.

Except in Qld, where the system set up by Cavalucci abolished the regional federations (district in your post), so the clubs do not have a vote in their association, or in the state federation for that matter.

so no recourse of opportunity to unscrew QLD football then?

yer Cavaluuci is a recent one who has set things back for Qld in turn deflects to the other States being not aligned.
I'll try to find the history I've read in the past but its the typical State power war.
Like people harp on the FA based in Sydney, oh bloody NSW.
Small minded stuff that - maybe the FA should invest in central Aus ffs for eg.
The Vics have always disliked that and beat the drums, VicNPL in its own right is big just as NSW hence who is da best crap.
The NSL ending period there was alot of angst both Feds not agreeing yaddayadda.
One side wanted it one way the other not usual school yard crap and I expect to this day.
Somewhere in archives I'll try find more juice for ya.

Wow, sneakily grants have gone from 1% of the budget to 13%, nearly the 15% you get in the uk

parting gift from JJ to get our budget more in line with international standards

need state leagues to follow
