Undermanned against a much stronger team. The young kids tried their best, but we lacked the necessary quality to push for a result. Lopez was superb as he kept us in the match.

Dandenong Thunder were the better team overall and I would have loved it if we could just hold on for another 5 minutes.

I’m hoping the Football Department is talking to him about a longer term arrangement to include the Australian Championship. That would make it much more sensible.

Its a lot for sure, but surely "big hellas" has a sponsor or something that can come to the party.

Where are the maltesers getting the money from? Its not like our budget has been huge this year either.

Results have not been kind to us this weekend with St Albans winning. Thankfully Altona Magic lost. All eyes now on the Monday night game between Victory Youth and Port Melbourne.

They owe the supporters for this bargain basement bullshit they pulled this season.

Literally played 3/4 of the season without a striker, and Bonada isnt really an out and out striker so technically no genuine number 9 all season

2 forwards, an Attacking mid, an extra winger and another defender is a must, nothing can be left to chance as we saw the garbage we had to bring into starting 11 yesterday. With Menalou coming we have to start playing him as a DM cos our back 4 is badly exposed.

Fornaroli without a genuine playmaker and at $5k?? And this would be a good investment? We are in need of a different type of striker and thats blatantly obvious.

He is a ball on the gorund poacher.... Is fornaroli going to score from crosses or high balls coming into the box? When was the last time you saw south play ball on the ground football? Without Mells who else could transition on the ground quickly?
Lets atleast be honest that $5k could easily fill more of our gaps with more talent and younger.

Aside from any name appeal, this would be a serious risk IMO, unless you can guarantee he is in it for the long haul and hungry? what about the fact he was injury riddled this year is that to be written into the contract Or do we pay blindly? Let George cross pay those rediculous amounts, as they have nothing else to pay for!

Side note perhaps we need to ask why other Cashed up NPL clubs refuse to pounce already?

Should get the six points in our next two games easily especially since both games are at home and both Dandenong Thunder and Hume City, the teams we face in our next two, are coming off the back of losses in their last games.

Jamie young in goals and the number 15 Dutch centre back are quality. They have a few journeyman in attack like Dekker and Clarke and the Japanese kid they got from Northcote is a huge threat. The one thing going for us is that they are nowhere near as good on the road as what they are at home. We cant read much into the last 2 games as they got played off the park by the best 2 teams. Clearly up to now Thunder are the "best of the rest".

I'll stick my neck out and say if we win on Sunday somehow we stay up, it would be by far a bigger scalp than Preston.

Is Fornaroli booting Popes shot out of the ground? Or the one he had in the 1st half from an incredible position that ended up closer to the corner flag? Is Fornaroli butchering a 3 on 1 counter attack if he is approaching the box? Is he fucking up literally every attacking sequence that Harding and Brennan did yesterday?

We lost yesterdays game cos we were dreadful in the box, im not going to argue that 5k isnt excessive, but the reality is someone of his quality with the chances we had yesterday scores at least 2. Since we cant keep clean sheets anymore only goal scorers will save us.

Yeah and he was at Northcote last year, i repeteadly mentioned to anyone that listened that we should grab him but it all fell on deaf ears. In saying that he was never going to be any use in Estebans system.

I thought we defended very poorly at times, Lopez made so many amazing saves but they were constantly unmarked in the middle, you could see Javi visibly getting angry. We need some serious firepower cos i doubt we will keep a clean sheet in the remaining games.

Apparently Fornaroli will make his decision this week over whether he will join George Cross or South, george cross is the favourite to land him but we may seriously need to look at boosting our offer cos our wastefulness in the final 3rd was diabolical today. How can you have so many chances yet Jamie Young makes no saves?

missing 3 starting players didnt help ... yet again a game of 45 mins on, 45 k mins off for us... except this time we spread that over both halves.... Terribly wasteful infront of goals..... a narrow loss was fair but we werent fire... playing like last night earlier in the season would hjave seen us get another 6-9 points I reckon ....... if only.

We'll rue this game moving forward.

Some green shoots in Francou and OSullivan.... Painter had a terrible error to cost the goal but otherwise very solid. and Lampard's form has drastically improved these past 2-3 matches... Javi Lopez is the god of goalkeepers.... ...

Ive gotta say Im starting to come around to your reasoning... $5k a week is a garbage request unless we get some sort of return... maybe he IS the solution to our #9 .. its certainly better than Harding or makeshift Inglese Saywer and Andy just cant lead the line....

I just hope we get some decent news this week... It was deflating enough seeing the sub 500 crowd after last weeks bumper attendance... I mean sure, we did NOTHING to promote this game but still, I would have thought at least some of the rubber-neckers would have been satisfied with a big derby atmosphere and a last minute bicycle winner to at least consider coming back to Lakeside...
