haha cool storey mate.

I have fond memories of Adelaide for I attended the first ! and others to follow fyi.....
Even though I was a surfer (due to the wog oldies were huge beach goers living not for from the beachs) I was a petrol head at heart as well for the old man was in the Auto Parts National distribution game.
Hence we went to alot of races for brands he was involved with sponsered many events - heck did speedway in its heydays, Amaroo/Oran parks and Bathurst.
My bro was right into motorcross and damn good, ended up being in the game there and he ended up managing riders.
So there was ahuge outdoor Supercross event on same timing as the 1st AGP (85) so I tagged along.
OMG hearing those 1000hp motors from like 2/3+k's away it was get me there so quick !
Senna in the early days of black gold JPS Lotus !
Lauda
Laffite
Keke
Mansell
Piquet
Jonesy
DeAngelis
Prost
Albereto etcetc
I got pics still of all those cars, getting weighed, walk by the pits I couldn't believe it !
Went to few more and been to Albert Park countless times.
Done Monza of all places omg what a experience.
For I followed the ol man into the parts game.
Brothers involvement been to motogps at Eastern Creek and PI.
Been to countless Supercars and pre SC.

Yer I used to do playstation and grantourismo like mad.
I should get a today sim and play for its great fun.
Got a couple of mates with race cars and their simulators are of epic big $$ proportions.

I wonder if my brothers still have their big album they took from when they went.

But basically.. my dad used to work for Agip in the late 80s through to mid 90s, so was able to get pit pass tickets (including a Ferrari garage tour/stop by if I recall correctly) if he wanted. He went himself in... I think it was 1991, when the race got washed out early, and then in 1995 - because Agip was being swapped out by Ferrari for Shell - he took my two older brothers (both high school aged - wheras I was 4).
So naturally, as a 4 year old who had a habit for chucking tantrums, my dad didn't want to take me on a roadtrip halfway across the country, so in response I... chucked a tantrum.
I was convinced at that age that the reason I wasn't allowed to go with my brothers and dad was that I was too small, and when the cars drive past, I'd go flying like a plastic bag, so I'd be allowed to go when I was bigger.
I think my oldest brother felt guilty for a while, so when he took his oldest to Albert Park (I think he was 6 at the time he took him - and now competes in the National Karting Championship), he paid for me to come along finally.

Loved Adelaide, even as a kid. I can't remember if I've ever shared the story of Adelaide and how my brothers' + dad got me into F1.

The old original PlayStation F1 game (1995 season) had Adelaide, and then for the follow up 1997 game, they incorporated the few tracks that had been swapped out since by having a mirrored version (right turns instead of left turns, etc) that I loved driving - "Edialeda"
Still one of my 3 quintessential street circuits - Monaco, Adelaide, Singapore. Glad Supercars were able to save it from being stopped for good a couple years back.
Amazing how games get us sport. I was the same with football thx to FIFA and fm

AGIP< luv the brand iconic amongst racing circles and the beautiful prancing horse, what a pairing, never liked shell (but they pay the $$$) and avoid using their fuel lol.....
haha classic when young tantrum storey and fly off like a piece of plastic lol......
Yer damn they are fast when your at the track.
Supercars look like turtles.
Man, go see a motogp live and at PI, OMG these guys are suicidal compared to F1's, main straight at 300+ leaning in that first curve and imagine a side wide hit you omg !
Hope your nephew is enjoying the karting, great format.

Suppose you guys seen this :
Liberty working on making USA F1 huge $$$'s in revenue.
Can see the many redneck nascar followers jumping on the GM/Cadillac bangwagon.

What a fucking joke, even if it’s the right move. Turned down the guy that instigated it, because it would be a “threat to sponsors” for McLaren, Haas and Williams, but now because it’s mostly the manufacturer (General Motors) involved rather than the team owner who recently stepped down (Andretti), they accept it

I wish tennis got more love besides when the Australian open is on its a good sport
well once we were massively competitive MCG as you may well know.
People like watching their own up in lights, punching for Slam wins.
Were a fickle bunch here.
I watched live the other night the Davis Cup played in Spain.
We done ok though eventual winners Italia beat us in the Semis.
Hewitt was saying this format sucks when it should be a home tie for us - for countless euro supporters can make it to Spain whereas playing here obviously the crowd would have been 90% aussie that helps right.
Davis Cup doesn;t get the cred it also used to have back in the day.
I only watch the slams now.

Like i said the politics are obvious.

I wish the girls played 5 sets. I'd be really interested in whether the Williams sisters had a big enough tank to play for 3 or 4 hours or whether they'd be fine and the smaller girls would struggle.

Pretty much the only sport where girls play a truncated version of their game. (NRLW pays 35 minute haves instead of 40 minute halves.)

I was boxing this morning (I normally do Muay Thai / kickboxing ), could hardly do it.

Fuck me it was humid. Like when I have trained in Thailand

The weather is very weird in Melbourne atm.

Tonight I have futsal, played my first game in about 6 years a few weeks back. It's hilarious/sad, I can still kick someone at head height at the gym, but I can't kick a football to save myself anymore and end up not being able to walk properly for three days after it.

Yer TSF try playing when your my age haha
Takes me 3/4days recovery depending if I come off at times.
This past season few games no subbing ffs but heck seems I survive luv it.

Golf play every Friday morn with team mates.
Such fun I don’t take it seriously but like Beretta you start somewhere - 18/20 HC will do me.

AFLW also plays 17 min quarters rather than 20 (was originally 15). WNBA play 10 min quarters compared to NBA's 12 mins.

Not sure about Rugby Union. But, yes these are the only direct comparisons I can think of where the women spend less time on the court/field than the men. There's obviously examples (such as AFL and Cricket) where on court distances differ to the mens' version of the game too, but that's technically a different thing.

It's rank sexism. It's equivalent to saying you girls can do a 35km marathon because you're too frail to do a full one.

ewwwwwww !
Long recovery mate that sucks big time !
