Summer of Cricket thread

I expect you have gone to Bellerive for Tassie shield game DC. Wish I was there too with the gang.
I will follow the match on CA website sitting in my broken computer chair, while you guys sit in relative luxury inside the TCA rooms.

Is it a green top as Viccos won toss and are bowling?

Yes it is a green top. May be tuff going for probably the first session .

Some interesting listings for the Tigers. NIV RAD, Aidan O'Connor, Raf MacMillan all debuting. Pleased to see selectors pushing the next gens.

In the other early game Blues have also won the toss and are bowling against the Bulls. Their pace attack, without Tremain and Bird, lacks experience. Debutant Pawson looks the pick so he should enjoy this lively Gabba track. Watch out for Hanno Jacobs, also debuting, tall guy with a whippy action.

Just caught second session of Tas v Vic at Bellerive in Shield.

Tas 2 - 102 on a seaming pitch when I arrived. It was 6 - for about 150 when I left.

Only bright spot was 18 year old debutant, O’Connor, from Launceston. Looks to have a big future with 10 NO. His off drive is reminiscent of Will Pucovski.

Impressed with medium pacer O’Neill from Vic. His smooth action takes little out of him. The pitch was a long way over, so we couldn’t get behind the bowler. I suspect he was seaming and swinging a bit.

Siddle is bowling superbly for a 40 yo!

Elliot is the son of former Test opener, Matt Elliot. He is a huge, strapping pace bowler.

Message from ground, O’Connor playing more quality shots!

Some of us have dashed home to watch Webster in SL, Richie.

Very comfortable chairs in members! Good food too!

Debutant O’Connor 41 NO on a seaming wicket.

BW fighting hard in SL on 22 NO. Aus needs more runs!

Webster bowled 31. Spinning like a top.

In hindsight big mistake replacing Murphy with CC.

Aus 153 in front. Is it enough?

Jayasuriya bowling well - turn, loop and accuracy.
