Summer of Cricket thread

Smith attacking spin early. It can be a big advantage if you hit the spinner out of the attack because you can burn out the quicks
 
tight test. Just get the feeling that if Australia had 1 less wicket the game could quickly swing in their direction. Head a crucial wicket, now a lot of pressure on webster.
He has done well so far to be fair
 
Australia struggling to have their way here with the spinner. South Africa with little match fitness coming into this so it is a vital victory for South Africa that Australia haven't been able to hit the spinner out of the attack
 
Smith gone from the spinner, pretty vital for the spinner to not just avoid being hit out but getting a wicket

South Africa right on top here, Australia will do well to get 250 in their first innings
 
50 for webster. Need a 100 here to stay in the game. Tough ask...
 
Australia win a session but are still a long way behind in the game. Need to win the next session to close the gap a bit
 
well that didn't work out did it. Got the feeling that if we could hold out and be 5-220ish that there might have been a bit of joy to come.

Australia just slipping at key moments so far and look on track to be well short of par here

I think 350 is par

Was what Smithy tried to do grazor but he picked the wrong ball to go big on as he never reached the pitch. He was spitting chips as he trudged back while Markram was thanking his lucky stars that he got the great Steve Smith with his worst ball.

AS they have done countless times over their long partnership our three quicks blast out the opposition top order cheaply to have the Saffers reeling @ 4/43 at stumps.

Webster DC? A good partnership between he and Smithy gave us a decent score but your rello was gone for all money on about 14 when Bavuma missed taking a review.

Yes. If BW had been reviewed he was out!

Nevertheless top scorer with 72. Awful shot with bat away from his body to snick behind for his dismissal, but played some good cover drives, off drives, cuts and pulls for 4s in his knock. I went to bed at 1am at the end of his innings.

Smith looked completely on top. Was surprised to see his snick behind off Maharaj for 66.
 
Rabada and Jansen bowled well, but thought the Saffers bowling fell away after them. No respite from Aussie attack in quality.

Yep. He rode his luck. Has a loose technique he needs to work on before the Pommies come here in Nov. Like his back foot shot making tho. Similar to Cam Green.
