Sydney fc v Bangkok

Segecic has 13 goals in all competitions this season as an u21 midfielder

I think that's the record for an aussie mid that age?

Riley mcgree got 13 as a u22 mid

sydney just walking back on side there.

need to commit more to the rest defensee if they are tired

that passage of play from Alex grant. Just walks forward and a feeble pass straight to the opposition and he is too tired to get back and defend the counter....The football iq has been really poor at times

and what a goal costa!

rubbish defending at the far post and again the offside trap is poor

the offside is the absolute basics. It could be a coaching problem - matthews has looked better so far for portsmouth than he did for sfc. Normally players look weaker in the tougher competition of europe

Australia Cup winner & A League premiers plate winner have officially now retained their ACL Two group stage place & ACL Elite league phase place respectively for 2026/27 season after Nam Dinh were bundled out earlier by J League outfit Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
need to start building that coefficient again
The apl do need to do something to help future asian teams. Not sure what...

congrats sydney! Do we get max points for the win or does it count towards our coefficient as a draw because we drew in the 90?

So we will have 3 teams playing in the the Asian comps next season?

@Decentric curious if you have had a look at segecic?
His goal contributions at u21 are comparable to riley mcgree at u22 (who are both wide attacking mids). Players develop quickly at this age, so reaching this level a year earlier than mcgree could be significant

It was a great match to watch, very exciting even for the Sydney-haters. Segecic is looking like an absolute gun, his scoring per minutes played is well up there, he’s got a powerful left-foot shot, and he’s not afraid to pull the trigger, something the national team needs. Not sure how Deavonish-Meares keeps getting selected, it seems Redmayne has fallen far in Talay’s estimation. The dark arts/shithousery shown by Leo Sena was something to behold. The Thai player stood over the ball after a free kick and Sena belted the ball and followed through into his testicles. Second yellow for the Thai player and he was off. Advantage Sydney!

So I watched a bit of this match last night for a laugh. Oh my the standard of football in this country is so fucken dire. I can't imagine why anyone would want to pay to watch these teams unless its just an excuse to sing songs with your school mates. Is that still allowed in the Z-league?

Playing at walking pace..passing it around at the back and dwelling on the ball... inability to put in a cross without shanking it out of play more often than not... its schoolboy level. The game is probably in the worst state of health its ever been here.
