The Australian Championship Thread

Thankfully, you know fuck all about me !

Sydney city, upped sticks and left the PNSL, did i sell any gear or cry foul, NO.

Remember, Australian football is secondary to me.

Keep trolling on boy.
Thankfully yes, we wholeheartedly agree on that.. but dont get confused, I sure as fuck dont want to know u in the least!

What i do know though, is this:
1. You are not unique, you are the epitome of most die hard franchise followers, all the way down to spinning the same crap to hide their deepest fears. (You know what im referring to!)
2. The less ppl like you are involved in this the better for all.. more than happy for YOU and your cohorts to stay on your side of the fence and me on mine!

Dont let the fear set in, but then again you can always play that "secondary card" of yours when times get tough!

Muppet.

And just a little reminder about who DOESNT want this to go anywhere ... And how a poxy little piece of shit APL shill on the Roar spouts rabid xenophobic tirades on the launch day of the Championship... The great thing is that the fear is real........

I refuse to post a link to that shithole site and especially this arsehole's bizarre attack on people he has never met and a sport he will never understand - despite being a franchise enjoy er for a whole 4 or 5 years or whatever.

I know a few of you lurk and engage with the ancient ones over there ... feel free to pass on my sincerest "fuck you clown" :)

I saw that article and facepalmed. There's no need for it. We've moved on. We're moving forward. A "Eurosnob" or NSL fan isn't going to read that and think, "You know what, they're absolutely correct". I can't imagine what's inspired them to write that. Maybe they deal with snobs every day, who knows haha.

Once again, you have NO idea what I think. And it will ALWAYS be secondary.

Now you are name calling. Back to your parents basement/ garage you go.

I am the epitome of fuck all, I have no fears, if SFC go belly up, then it is over for me. Simples ,wee boy.

You are worst troll I have ever encountered. Your replies are rank to say the least. Get to bed, you have school shortly.

At least with the older SMFC fans, it is interesting, as they know , what you don’t, football.

Go on, put the light out and sleep like a man.

Genuinely confused, what would this be?

Is that some of AL clubs would go under solely because of this, that the Australian casual fan will move around clubs between the two leagues like hot cakes? This is kind of already occurs lol.

90% of the public, couldn’t give a fuck about AL or old NSL side for longer than 1-3 years, they bin going to the football and then will stick around for the cup finals, marquee fixtures etc.

Football is a phase for general public. No matter how much of a nice inner community there is.

Won’t be that much of a change. Bring on 2034 as the goal. If they see viability (long term success) within the two divisions and growth in the state leagues, it would be a no brainer for dedicated owners who invested capital to open up imo. If they get relegated and only see that their budget will drop by x amount, nothing worse than the merge to APL and Paramount deal imo.

Sydney FC only made profit 3 years out of 20, in which then it built an academy from 12 and up, 4 school set ups, SAP program, women’s academy, training base, wheelchair football etc the list goes on. If there is viability and the trend of sustainable growth, most AL owners would be stupid to not try open because let’s be real, the first 10-15 years of it opening anyway would be just top 32 clubs in the country with then strict guidelines of getting a pro license like in most countries that have this issue.

Watch me get the wrong fear? :ROFLMAO:

What the Australian Championship Stands For

Authenticity: Celebrating local clubs, iconic grounds, and historic rivalries.

Discovery: Unveiling new talent and rising stars from across the country.

Connection: Bridging state competitions, professional pathways, and grassroots football.

Pride & Belonging: Uniting fans, players, and communities through football’s universal appeal

Thats what I mean though, I used to get paid to write this type of crap back in uni :ROFLMAO:

To me, it's just football. Let the football football, if people want to support the game, go out to matches. To me, I find it hard that people aren't already going either that be a club in the NPL or A-league.

Hope, the increase of crowds in Australian Championships isn't just trend, ultimately most of the clubs, this includes A-league and NSL are just trends for 90% of people. It's only the minority like us that stick around and make the clubs, feel and have the community of an actual club.
Agree with this pretty much.... only benefit of the Championship is that clubs arent starting from scratch though.. whatever minuscule fanbases they already have are certainly more than what a day dot brand new franchise license would have?

Yep agreed, not sure why all the negativity and hysterics online.

The only difference is the formation and license period no?

Let's say Sydney Olympic go under, is it on the other clubs and organisation to try save them, can the organisation try strip the AC license to ensure owner doesn't go bonkers?

I think it's a positive imo if there is money being thrown around. Why is this an offensive word in Australia?
If SO does go under then its absolutely NOT up to the other clubs or the federation to try and save them .. they are a stand alone club, answerable ONLY to their members and fans.... Think of them as a fish and chip shop in a high street shopping centre... if it fails, sure the other shops would like a new fish and chip shop to open in the same location (to keep the shopping strip vibrant and relevant) but they will absolutely NOT chip in to keep the failing one going.....

Now in a franchise system, where one of the actual aims of the business is to generate a return on investment, then the actual "product" that matters is the value of each individual franchise license... The league can only grow if the next license they sell to an investor is sold at a price that can provide return to ALL the franchises already in the scheme. Thats why you have "clubs: kicking in to keep Newcastle alive for example and why a Canberra team is so far away .. They HAVE to sell the next license for more than 25 million dollars.... and the 2 after that for circa 50 million each....

Franchising isnt a dirty word, it just doesn't align with the meritocratic principles of community sport.... thats all.

What I cant understand is that if NSL fossils and Eurosnobs are the reason for poor crowds then surely attacking them isnt going to make them want to attend the Aleague????

Mate WU have already stated they WOULD NOT compete in a second division, and I suspect that many of the other franchises would feel similarly....

The ONLY reason the old NSL clubs survive the drop is because we are NOT beholden to an investor, we don't NEED to make any money, just enough to keep the lights on and pay the bills. Clubs like Preston dropped 3 divisions and still alive, the franchises cant do the same..... unless they pivot into something different than they already are.... I dont see any desire from them to do so.

From the APL - its a protectionist thing, they see this as a rival who may take some of their customers away
From Aleague fans
- well they have been told for the last 20 years that the NSL dies becuase of "effnikz" so this is evil
- this pro/rel thingy which the rest of the world has and Aleague fans want seems like it may be finally coming to Australia and their franchsies aren't included... soo..... wahhhhh wahhhhh

Wouldn’t that just be the case within a few years though?

It’s not like the AL owners thought massive profits at the start is a must and the purpose.

The aim of the license being bought here was to ensure capital which the clubs would use as an exposure potential opportunity to build on?

It’s a triple sided though.

Seen all sorts from APL/AL, general public and then NSL club supporters.

It’s ultimately the general public who we should take an eye on.
