the rumours have me cautiously optimisticI quietly remain excited!!
Exactly that Grazor. and even if we dont like it, the drib of information is creating/building upon the exisitng anticipation! Could well be the best marketing ploy in FFA history! Lolthe rumours have me cautiously optimistic
I mean.. they already announced the bottom 3 lines of thisAnnouncement will be made either tomorrow or next Wednesday.
Will be called Australian Championship
4 x groups of 4 plus knock-out.
8 Federation clubs + member state winners
Starts October finishes December.
Clubs had a meeting a couple nights ago.I mean.. they already announced the bottom 3 lines of this
Wouldn’t count on thatHopefully they also update us on the next RFP dates and seasonal timing and format for 2026.
And as I said, format, (rough) dates and clubs competing were already announced in OctoberClubs had a meeting a couple nights ago.
I'm expecting this announcement to be the launch with format, dates, new website etc.
Disagree, the communication has been appalling... Its Feb and yet no announcement.... maybe we hear something today, maybe next week, whatever it is... Im sure it cant be revolutionary... juts being led along by the nose to keep the fires burning.... why dont they just rip off the bandaid and make a bold move?Exactly that Grazor. and even if we dont like it, the drib of information is creating/building upon the exisitng anticipation! Could well be the best marketing ploy in FFA history! Lol
Don't know about you but Im getting pretty sick of the constant "meetings" ....Clubs had a meeting a couple nights ago.

The FA will be covering all the flights and accommodation from all reportsDon't know about you but Im getting pretty sick of the constant "meetings" ....
Is that for ALL 16 clubs or just the 8 NPL champions? The FA will be covering all the flights and accommodation from all reports
Yeah the travel costs for a group format is one thing, a full season is a different beast. Excluding finals:Is that for ALL 16 clubs or just the 8 NPL champions?
Sure but also factor in how many of these matches will require travel and accommodation..... its looking like it will be Sydney and Melbourne centric which would cut down some of these costs.Yeah the travel costs for a group format is one thing, a full season is a different beast. Excluding finals:
48 matches in a 4x4 Champions League
132 matches in a 12 team season
182 matches in a 14 team season
240 matches in a 16 team season
Yeah I've done all those costings. A Melbourne + Sydney 8 team league would've been stupidly cheap, there's no way money could be used as the excuse for not going ahead with that one. Every other combination of clubs/federations, minus WA, have middle of the road travel costs.Sure but also factor in how many of these matches will require travel and accommodation..... its looking like it will be Sydney and Melbourne centric which would cut down some of these costs.
Good news is, based off the clubs already admitted, and then adding on those that have passed the technical requirements for the RFP, and then assuming the latest ones to announce EOIs but haven't been assessed yet, that brings us to the magic 16 anyways; If you had to choose two more clubs from Victoria for the NST who would they be? Knights and Heidelberg?
I know many people will cry that there are already too many NSW and Vic clubs in it, but I think a few more from Vic are inevitable to get to 16.
I really can't see any from NNSW, ACT, or WA getting up for it. Unless Canberra United elect to be demoted. Gungahlin? I'm thinking:
5 Vic
5 NSW
3 QLD
2 SA
1 TAS
