K. Yengi, Metcalfe, McGree should be back soon. O'Neill just returned - unless I missed a re-injury? Irankunda and Bos tbd.

Still you have to question the overall fitness and form of those guys which gets exacerbated with international travel. We could really use some good news like Robertson accepting a call up.

A best XI may look ugly without Bos and Toure. I think our midfield will be okay with Triantis, Balard, Luongo and Irvine available though.
 
Japan home last time around vibes with Covids affecting players and Behich couldn't fly due to snow.

We've got the depth and maybe some A League players will be beneficial given they don't need to travel. I wonder how Duke is keeping fit?

A back four instead would be my preference. Left field may be Goodwin. Iredale perhaps, though not sure whether he can provide the width the role needs.

I know. It's depressing. Popovic should dust off a back four and add another midfielder instead. Shoulda been doing that anyway.

You could easily have a back four with Triantis dropping deep in the defensive phase and lose nothing defensively.
 
I agree with the back four call but Poppa seems to think he's some kind of prophet with some of his whack selections.

If Elder doesn't get picked in this squad then he never will. I mean bloody Gethin Jones got picked from obscurity FFS!

Elder is a good call! I had almost forgotten/given up hope for him.

Has to happen and no realistic alternatives. I'm discounting Behich who I think is past his best.
 
elder's record this season isn't mind blowing but with our injury crisis is a real option
 
Robertson has a hamstring injury. Fotmob has him returning mid March, though their injury returns are to be taken with a grain of salt. Though most hammys are 4 week injuries so it tracks.
