The Melbourne Victory Thread

That's one big fuck off sized ball and chain off the clubs ankle!

With Bloom, apparently Brighton didn't even know he was bankrolling them for a couple of years. I've read if they get involved not to expect big injections of cash but access to better analytics, staff etc. to help the club be better run. I like that idea. I'd like a greater focus on player development.

Best performance under Diles

Agreed, but we have only won 1 game outside of AAMI Park this season. If we are going to challenge for second spot, we need to improve on that record.

We finished 3rd on 42 points last year, but you’re probably going to need 45 this year to guarantee a home final. That’s 4 wins out of 6.

Massive game at WSW this week. I’m hearing we are taking big numbers to Parramatta.

Melbourne Victory welcomes Tony Bloom as an investor

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Tony Bloom that has seen him personally acquire an initial 19.1% stake in the Club, with an ability to increase his ownership over time.

Bloom is the majority owner and Chairman of English Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion, and an investor in Belgian First Division team, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

“We are extremely excited to bring someone of Tony’s calibre not only into Melbourne Victory, but of course, into the A-League,” Melbourne Victory Chairman John Dovaston said.

“Tony’s wealth of experience and expertise in football is well recognised, with Brighton & Hove Albion being widely regarded as one of the best-run teams in the EPL.

“While the investment is independent of Tony’s other footballing interests, we are confident that being able to leverage Tony’s network at Brighton and beyond will help propel Melbourne Victory forward with a further strengthened capital base.”

“As a passionate football supporter, I am excited to have the opportunity to become a shareholder in Melbourne Victory, one of the most successful clubs in A-League history,” Mr Bloom said.

“My investment reflects my confidence in the Club's vision and leadership, and I see tremendous potential in the Club for further growth and success, both on and off the pitch.
