The Orange Army. (Brisbane Roar Official Thread)

full back seems our weakest position at the moment so no complaints there. Our right back situation is probably passable if we have a young gun providing competition (and perhaps winning the rb spot)
we also need a cb to relace herrington and an understudy for O'Shea (ideally competing and winning his spot) given O'Shea is getting on a bit

also need a striker
When you say we need to replace Herrington are you talking about a backup for him, the likelihood of him leaving, or you think he is crap (I don't believe anyone thinks the last one is true)?

I know there was a lot of talk about him being in the shop window and particularly mention of the MLS with his potential, but I had not heard anything that said he was going or gone yet.

"Clown supports the best circus in the land"

Reports have circulated widely tonight that one orange-eyed fool has been publicly castigated for failing to accept the only incontrovertible fact of Australian football - that it is impossible for Brisbane Roar FC to perform any actions that do not include elephants, monkeys or pop-corn.

The besieged clown is reported to have bunkered down somewhere in the South East corner of the state of Queensland and is prepared to release further damning fantasies as the opportunity arises.

Further updates, including the ludicrous suggestion that State of Oranges does not represent the balance of human life and existence, may or may not follow as the facts emerge.

Film at 11:00.

I'm annoyed at this thread and in particular RIMB.

You need the 'circus' in the thread title RIMB. Always had a little chuckle on 442 when it popped up to the top of the threads. What fresh hell are the Roar up to this week?

Sort it out fella.
Fixed above.

thought he was confirmed departure. Think he is already one of the top cbs in the league which is disguised by a poor defensive unit

Brisbane Roar can today confirm that midfielder, Walid Shour will not be returning to the club for 25/26 A-League Men season.

Both Walid and the club have agreed on a mutual termination agreement, effective immediately.

Walid joined Brisbane Roar ahead of the 24/25 A-League Men season, featuring on 20 occasions throughout the campaign and leaves with the club's best wishes for his future.

New Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s Head Coach, Michael Valkanis has added another piece of personnel with the signing of Australian attacker Michael Ruhs for the 25/26 season.

At just 22-years-old, Ruhs joins the club having already gained five years of professional experience during stints with Macarthur FC, Central Coast Mariners and Western United FC, where he registered a combined 94 Isuzu UTE A-League Men appearances.

In his final season with Western United FC in 24/25, Ruhs became a key figure for John Aloisi’s side, making 20 appearances whilst contributing with six goal involvements in a side that finished third in the regular season before falling at the Semi Final stage.

Renowned for his electrifying speed and ability to break defensive lines, Ruhs’ signature acts as a sign of things to come for the team who are setting their sights firmly on playing finals football in season 25/26.

Speaking on signing with the club, Michael Ruhs said: “It’s an honour to join a club like Brisbane Roar, one of the biggest in the A-Leagues.

“I can’t wait to meet the passionate fans and use my strengths on the field to help get the team back where they should be, playing finals football.”

Head Coach Michael Valkanis said: “We are excited to welcome Michael to the football club for the 25/26 season.

“Despite being just 22, Michael brings a wealth of A-Leagues experience to the club, along with a dangerous set of skills, highlighted by his speed and fighting mentality, that will make him a valuable asset for the Brisbane Roar this season.

“We know our fantastic fanbase will join me in welcoming Michael to club.”

With preseason set to begin for the team this Tuesday, July 1, the club looks forward to the announcements of several new players in the coming weeks.

The Club media release has labelled him an "electrifying Australian attacker".

He has speed and strength but it has been a few seasons since I thought him a threat playing against him.

I do not think he is a bad signing though, and it is pleasing to see players being signed in positions that we need strengthened. Will be interesting to see how Valkanis brings out the best in them all together.

Also interesting to note they are saying we can look forward to several new players in the coming weeks.

Can't wait for the first local pre-season games to get a look at how we are developing.
