UEFA Champions league 🏆🌟

Harvey Elliott (on for Salah, 87′) – 10

One touch, one goal. What a message to the coach from a player who has had a rough time of it this season...... Sacre bleu!

Now this bloke Slot is a bloody smart cookie thats for sure.
Something ol Ange should take big notes on having plan B's or other ways how to contest varying opponents with huge ability.

Soak up the punishment !
It was interesting to see Slot opt against the no-striker system that worked wonders against Man City and instead the Jota-led attack favoured against Newcastle.

But the instructions were still similar: hold firm, don’t press too high and, as he said before the match, “suffer and be like we were against City.”

Liverpool were perhaps lucky to avoid conceding before Slot began to turn to his bench, but from there his biggest influence became clear.

Each of Slot’s four changes were deliberate and inspired, not least the bold decision to withdraw a sub-par Salah and send on an efficacious Elliott.

He could not have hoped for more from his substitutes. Outstanding management.

Another thing, I'd luv seeing Endo getting more minutes, he's a complete and very smart DM.

Don't want to rain on your parade this morning, that was a fun game though. You let PSG have the ball and they couldn't do a thing with it. You lot played a very efficient game.

It's a bit of a myth that Ange has no plan B. He's actually set Spurs up in multiple different ways this season. The actual issue where he has no Plan B is the manner in which Spurs press, which has been highlighted by many analysts as being extremely inefficient.

Slot reminds me a lot of Ancelotti. He doesn't have a particular style, he's more of a problem solver and deep thinker. His team can play multiple different ways depending on the opponent and game state.

You're very lucky to have him LFC.

PSG did alot with the ball imo just couldn't put it in the onion bag.
I was damn impressed of their play and at home you always have that advantage but sound defense, Ali and that typical ol football good luck, dis allowed goal, Konate last man possible red VAR that I didn't was but the damn pundits were calling it a red ffs.
We stood the ground like we did against city when we let them have all the ball as well.
As much as I luv my Kloppy we wouldn't have survived those type of games for his out and out go for it style.
Slot sure is the thinking mans gaffa - agree Carlo similarity good pick up.
Mind you helps alot when you have good players in every position and bench support as both have/had.

Ange issue in what your saying is actually the difference of the 2 talking about, pressing is one thing but its having the smart nouse defensive players that read the game in that position after a press to cover the counters as VVD/Konate do for eg when high up the line.
No matter how good Ange's VDV is they and his fellow CB/backs are not smart enough thinking to cover.
Porro drifts way too high and is caught out against better teams.
You don't see Robbo/TAA for eg caught out flush too many times, beaten 1v1 here and there but totally caught out leaving the lines free not much BUT then there's VVD/Konate drifting across covering those breaks.

Therefore their errors when pressing imo coaching directives the way I see it re Spurs.

Yes mate, LFC have been very smart buyers be it gaffas and players for sometime, dud here and there player wise but more so good and here we are.
Its a long time that I can recall having a LFC team that can soak up so much possession yet either gain the draw let alone win.
Attack attack been our game for many a season.

hope your strapped in KK, I expect you broke the shackles the 87min mark, what a well placed strike going just passed a 6'4" keepers reach !
My wife came by me mid 1st half hearing me screaming/squirming the remaining game till yelling out FUCKING YESssssssss !!!

All the best up there mate YNWA

donnarumma is a beast when it comes to penalties.

Curtis Jones' penalty was awful.
yes and yes both comments.
Can't recall Jones ever taking a pen !
You had Gapko should have followed MO for starters.
Gravenberch Elliott.
This has been one of Slots first major wrong call this season.

Anyway its done, focus on this next final.

That was such an absorbing game Im just shattered from watching it - in truth best team went through but we should have taken our chances - we also seem to have an issue with shooting first time in the box, Nunez for the 2nd penalty wasnt smart at all Salah over the 2 games wasnt there at all ..........dont want to moan too much but im gutted I love the champions league its what Liverpool is all about but how is it that Liverpool topped the group and end up with PSG when Arsenal and Villa get easy peasy ties that stinks
