FIFA Club World Cup 2025

Yes, good refereeing. Fairly disciplined performance by Boca- none of the wild tackling they did against Benifica- but 2-1 to Bayern.

ABC just as bad as 9 and 7 now

Even having a look at the rest of their headlines for the past few days - outside of the national teams, they only really bring up Auckland, racist chants in Victoria, the fallout from Ange, and a Messi free kick
They’ve edited it now. I made a complaint about the inaccuracy, I’m sure other people did too.

This club World Cup has been fun to watch, I dont care what any hater says because its shown that this is a world game like the World Cup which showcases the clash of styles from all over the world.

For example we have seen the Brazil and Argentina clubs having the edge over the European teams, the beautiful football played by the Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa against BVB, Ulsan from South Korea going toe to toe against Flamengo.
The passion from the fans has been unbelievable, which shows we have got long ways to go in understanding the football culture which the authorities continue to neglect here.

The European teams have so far been a bit underwhelming from a long gruelling season but we know the quality they have, the MLS clubs need to get rid of their salary cap it might work in the NFL/NBA but this is a global environment so they continue to find it difficult to compete with one, but overall its been probably the best thing to come out of the sport which showcases the best of our sport.

I like to see some tweaks to the scheduling during the season and a fairer way for teams to qualify but overall its been a great success and still has room to grow which is the exciting part.

The ABC have been slowly going to a decline in the last few years, its getting worse with how they present the news and which topics they focus on but this is very poor nevertheless.

Surely you don't need a masters degree to search up which team was playing Bayern Munich given its a part time team...

Agree Barca with you, I noted even before the start I'd be watching whereas MCG quoted no interest and others its a joke.
Well it is what it is, I'm at home or work lol looking in.
Its been fun and interesting viewing yep, the brazillian clubs great to see - they are right up for it and whoever they face is as well.
What a spot kick by the Flumin player, exact Messi take replay from the other day.
How was the Ulsan cross and low header to get them 2-1 up, brilliant.
Mame going toe to toe with Dortmund.
Crowd vibes been good.

Years ago I said that we should get on to hosting the CWC before it becomes popular and unaffordable for us. Would be great for tourism and the game here. It's a shame JJ didn't have time to get it over the line before he left.

River Plate vs Monterrey the worse game i have seen so far- the endless petty fouling was right up to A League standard.

what would be the point of hosting it before it became popular other than it would be cheap?

its not an asset you can sell for profit later on

thats their football nothing new ashton - latinos mex always fouling acting, don't our fellow MEastern friends do the same.
River played well in many phases when I was watching - wish we could do as such.

I vaguely remember us trying to bid for it, or do something in the recent past

yer that would have been a good win that HG.

Barca, the one touch play by River is impressive working down flanks, Mont/Mex champs not half bad as well.
How good was that? Such a refreshing change from the euro stuff which has become less about the skill and more on pace and power, that’s what the central/south American football brings it’s all about the skill and flair and of course their own dark arts lol.

But it’s been fun to watch.

Interesting read
As much as id love australia to host it, if fifa are smart they would do the next tournament in south america to give it a shot in the arm

The qualification process needs fixing. Need to get some heartbreak in people dramatically missing out as well as the euphoria of qualifying
