But it's not just January.
well the lights were on in the office ... maybe its the cleanerswhat are you expecting in January lol?
FA themselves advised they would advise broadcast details, name of main sponsor and competition name "in the coming weeks"....????? I know Im being impatient but fark me.... its like getting blood from a stone.I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything substantial until July or August! The format for this year is pretty much known, just need the clubs to fill in the rest.
So I think in the lead up to this Champions League that we'll start hearing about next year's NST format and the clubs involved. It's painful, FA and some clubs don't seem to be in a hurry to get there.
I was reading another old article about how the clubs wanted the NST to be semi pro first, but without a cap so any club could be pro if they desired. Would've got this off the ground much sooner I'd imagine.
Yeah I thought the broadcaster was wrapped up with the national teams months ago. It's like pulling teeth.FA themselves advised they would advise broadcast details, name of main sponsor and competition name "in the coming weeks"....????? The closer it gets the antsier everyone is I suppose... I just want this first "season" to go off smoothly... please, pretty please football godsYeah I thought the broadcaster was wrapped up with the national teams months ago. It's like pulling teeth.
An "affordable and feasible" national second tier that sits below the Australian A-League could be up and running as soon as 2022
Expansion to 16 teams occurring via promotion from the NPL -- on condition of minimum standards being met -- would preferably occur in the first four years and full promotion and relegation between a national second division and existing NPL competitions would commence once a 16-team competition had been reached.
This is going to come from our existing resources
To finalise it by March, April next year (2022)
The AAFC's vision estimates that the costs of running the league would reach up to $3.3 million, and that participating clubs would, on top of paying a participation fee of $200,000 a season, require an operating budget of between $850,000 and $1.6m.
To begin with, competing players would be semi-professional; the AAFC estimating that the rise in standards associated with the jump from the NPL to a NSD would add $150,000 to $250,000 in football operations costs for clubs as part of the additional $550,000 to $850,000 in expenses that would be added to existing NPL club's budgets. An intention would then be to transition into a fully professional competition as soon as viable.
No caps on spending at its outset that would prevent sides operating professionally immediately should they be able to do so.
If we're going to achieve a geographic spread as we'd hope and really tap most of Australia, if not all of Australia, we want to make it so that different regions can do it in different ways so they can all participate.
No preference is made between a winter or summer staging.
Second-tier clubs would have to possess stadium facilities that can accommodate a minimum of 3,000 fans and meet criteria surrounding their existing teams and youth development.
A comprehensive women's and girl's program with a focus on development would also be a prerequisite for any club seeking to participate in the proposed competition, with the AAFC also targeting the introduction of a women's national second division in 2025.
If they went with that model surely they find 16 clubs?A flashback from four years ago:

AAFC clubs table 'feasible' A-League Div. 2 plan
A national second tier that sits below the A-League could be up and running as soon as 2022, a report commissioned by the AAFC has found.www.espn.com.au
My thoughts exactly...If they went with that model surely they find 16 clubs?
HYmmmmm I wonder why they chose NOT to?If they went with that model surely they find 16 clubs?
I agree with your statement, and its a shame bc he couldve possibly been a gold mine of info which continues to remain in short supply! From that he come across as someone who was absent even if he was there!Yer thanks for posting but yer it’s Spider.
I haven’t been one who has jumped down this guy throat due to his behaviour patterns for I see him from the pov of his career that was pretty ok but this was a stupid interview being he has been coaching at SU until lately - a club who had gone through all the process’s of costs etc re NST as one of the 8 clubs approved and he doesn’t know what the costs involved and resource coming from ????
Like come on are you that vague or didn’t SU management give you any idea of the backbone process being approved ?!
Seriously what a joke !
That’s why JJ is dotting every ‘I’ and crossing every ‘t’, probably several times over.I agree with your statement, and its a shame bc he couldve possibly been a gold mine of info which continues to remain in short supply! From that he come across as someone who was absent even if he was there!
Having said that, the very real economic fear is a key concern for all, especially without access to said information to atleast analyse/hypothesise its viability!
For now we continue to fly blind and hope for the best.....honestly hate to think what the cost for football overall would be if it fails though!!
Yeah I wonder why Spider is suddenly in the "where's the money" camp????Where does the money come from to prop up franchises?
You can ask the same meaningless questions to thwart progress or you can say "good luck, hope it goes well".
