A-league attendances 24/25

I call it trendy yes, bc thats what it is proved to be... what else would you call something that isnt universal but picks and chooses what falls into a category and what doesnt, depsite identical truths? .the examples are numeorus of this! Hypocricy at its best!
Who picks and chooses?
Aren't you choosing in your protest that your little club is not in the A-League, is that not your choice.
We all voice our issues with injustices in our own way. However, the injustice to people of colour, sexual preferences sex gender has no race & is universal is still strong today.
I think yes hypocrisy is truly true with your views.

Most of your arguments defs highlight the oppoosite mate!! You argue against all things nsl while accepting the same and worse from the aleague..trying to veil it with flawed arguments and deflecting, doesnt do it justice but each to their own!

Was the aleague not supposed to address all those issues for the betterment of the game?? . and what have we gotten i ask again?? The same and worse most logocal people would say! Thats what i criticize like it or not... as for lack of history thats been proven its up to u to u now to prove otherwise, cant even convince us that they arent franchises mate...haha

But lets not burst your bubble too much, you found your footballing home finally (apparently) despite the 50+ years of searching..to my doubts may i add.

The return of Odysseus home was a shorter journey i will add.

ill continue to point the finger as long as you continue to fail to back up your arguments!
Not bursting my bubble mate, I'm saying football in this country has failed for 50 years that I have followed it. You said it was thriving under the NSL, Notice the difference. I'm definitely not trying to prove anything to you.
Yes, the A-League was meant to address those issues for the betterment of the game, but no it hasn't, it's failing, there is too many agendas in this game in this country. I'm agreeing with you.
But, don't tell me it was better under the NSL, don't tell me things were great when Sth Melbourne was the champions of Australia, I'm saying not even close.

Tis tis, misquoting me again mate, this is becoming a habit.... show me where exactly i said anything was thriving under NSL exactly?
Our argument was and always will be that YOUR (just as you point your finger at us) champagne and roses bullshit supposedly "fix everything soccer" league of very limited inclusion continues to fall short (to my delight may i add) of any of the promises it sold you on.. eapecially regarding "those damn efniks"..

With respect like that im sure your SJW promoting self will get all those injustice issues worked out as long as they fit your need and agenda.. congrats!

Aint a protest mate, ive accepted the reasons as to why my (according to you) "little" club, who i remind you remains the oceania team of the century, is not suitable for your aleague and we all know it aint related to football...

To be even more frank i would not in any way want my team in your aleague unless it was opened up and we won the right to be there fairly, but for that to happen your newly priveledged history-less "franchises" would have to continue to bleed and die (happy days!), so NST and NPL it is happily......dont come looking for a handout to bail you out though....Pay your memberships and save your own leagues, like we do with our community clubs happily.

Now you can go back to protesting for whatever cause of the day is trending or the project tells you to!

I do enjoy my club, it's the APL that I'm not happy with.

I'm in a thread of A-LEAGUE attendances & I am here & not in any NPL thread protesting about it, so who is doing the trending.

Allow me to enjoy my history less franchises & I allow you to enjoy your little club.

LFC, I ask the question why was the A-League more viable then the NSL?
I like you have followed the game for over 50 years & also like you an ethnic, but I have provided the reasons why I never followed an NSL club but jump on board an A-League club. So I'm not a newbie nor did I I not suffer from racism in the 70s/80s.
I'm not with you here clearly robbos responding to my post for it was in relation to KWally's meltdown back to Hellenic B W.

Yep we have been around a long time in the football landscape thats for sure - I have no issue you not embracing a club back in the day for as you mentioned you lived miles away from one for starters.
I wonder due to your fathers influence (re '74) IF a Porto Club made it in the NSL I expect you both would have tagged along (followed) but it never happenned but in the lower leagues.
Not sure viable is the appropiate description for obviously it isn't that.
As mentioned having all the bells and whistles that encourgae newbies/neutrals thats what drew in earlier interest, no more no less.
Marketing marketing rule 101 in the modern age, if its in your face enough you sure get some % of interest.
IMO the best thing AL introduced was Pro, the NSL was a bitza mostly semi Pro barring the small % of top players earning a quid.
Therefore for a bitza under funded semi pro league lacking so much content did better than you'd expect re crowds through its highs and lows - some crowds were huge with what marketing and lack of media/tv done pretty ok considering the mess it was.
Closed it may have looked like but any Club could prove their worth and throw their hat in the ring to SA, its just didn't work that way due to ignorance and the times.
People's msg's/posts may come across critical or otherwise (NPL supporters) on the surface its frustration that in this day and age nothing better isn't considered with all the resource there is at hand I know you agree with this.
IMO the crowd increase's of today is due to better transport/people have more $$ (despite the so called down turn), the facilities, the marketing, its obvious by the crowd highs lows many are not week in week out supporters.
Talking regular supporters - your group of 30 you mentioned, I can't see the GF decision was the catalyst for that was quite recent - active support issues ? did you guys hang in the Cove ? why have they opted out and how many is left of the 30 ?

Far too old for the Cove, plus I like to watch football, not get beer thrown on me. Yes, hence I see first hand without looking at attendance figures, our numbers have dwindled down to just a little more than a handful. The A-League is struggling big time, I've never denied it.

As for a Porto club, well my father was Benfica, but it was my granddad from my mum side who was Porto, who I never met.
Maybe, maybe not, I didn't have many Portuguese friends, in fact none, just family. I was happy to embrace the Aussie culture & was also happy of my Portuguese culture, I didn't crave it. While I'm a big fan of Ronaldo, I would not like my Aussie team to be chanting Port-tu-gal or Porto in a local game in Australia, but that is me, I have no issues others doing so. I reading Ange's book at present & can understand fully why others do, it's just their bitterness towards the A-League I'm not so keen on.

Wanderers were even pulling decent crowds at the Giants AFL ground when they first moved there.

The club did a world class job at sucking all the energy and momentum that they built after the Asian champions league win.

Nsl and a league both failed to break into the minds of the mainstream. So us arguing about who's worse is like two ugly people saying who's prettier
It's almost like 'appealing to the mainstream' is just something that 🇦🇺⚽ should give up on once&for all; not out of defeatism but sheer common-sense pragmatism💡

Well I'm ok going to games and just enjoying it with people that like it

I’m not saying there hasn’t been racism and I think South Melbourne should not have been excluded from the A-League and should be in the league. And I think that South Melbourne supporters although they claim to despise it, would secretly love to be in the A-League. They have the stadium, the supporters and would be a great addition. But do they have the financials/cash to be in the league? I’m gonna say no they don’t unfortunately.
Thats an interesting assumption ... and speculation on financials.... perhaps 4-5 years ago you would have had 40-50% accuracy in your statement now its just absolute garbage.... maybe ask people before speaking for them mate.

Got nothing to do with ethnics, I followed Parramatta power back in the NSL and went to a few games, played the game for a ethnic established club too. But when the A-League started there was no Western Sydney just SFC and i like a underdog and went to a few NZ Knightz matches and enjoyed myself and the few fans. Only reason i said your not Australian is you hate everything about professional football in Australia. I don't understand it to some extent.
Fair enough... I also dont understand why you would follow a foreign club and NOT a An Australian one like Marconi or Sydney Croatia but I don't call you un-Australian. :P

See this is what I don't understand, I don't think anyone has ever discriminated the chanting of 'Hellas' at a football game, it's just not what I want to do at a football game in Australia, not stopping others doing it.
Can you please explain to me why? Serious question "Hellas" is an english word as is "Victory" as is "Roar" as is "Jets". What is this whole hang up about?

Read what I said 'not stopping others doing it'.
We have gone thru this many times, you have explained & reading Ange's book I understand the passion & I too experienced the racism in the 70s/80s.
Merry Christmas & in the New Year, we will continue to see things differently & that is OK by me.
