A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 15

Anyone else notice the cheating tactics of the Adeliade coach jumping up and down at the 4th official for a water break every time Victory scored a goal?. Taking the rhythm out of Victorys game. Again Adelaide win by cheating and a fluke own goal.

Seriously wee man, let it fuckin go.

Oh shit, we are stuck with Zadkovic now aren't we.
And we're stuck with Talay. He didn't do anything that tactically creative in the match against Sydney. Just kept the high press going throughout the match and moved the ball around quickly. I liked those two kids at the back on the right, thought they did well. Would have been a case of the better team losing points if Sydney managed to equalise.

Sydney FC have massive defensive issues no matter who how many changes Talay makes, the squad has been completely unbalanced from the beginning of the season and although Talay isn't playing 5 attacking midfielders and a constant press anymore the fact remains that our defense is non existence. Brisbane aren't a great attacking side but it was basic pass and move football that carved Sydney up like a Christmas turkey last night.

Bloody hell. Onya Roar - the starting lineup, other than Bility, played really good football. Bility did brilliantly some times and horrendously on others. His inconsistency is a worry because his mistakes are big ones.

As soon as Zadkovich decided we had the game won and swapped out an attacker for a defender we lost all momentum and almost lost the game.

It is not smart football to miss the fact that our attacking midfield and forward line were what kept Sydney back and without great prospects. Swapping out an attacker to have two DMs, and playing 2 rows of four in defence instead of having 6 players battling in the midfield, was the very strategy that has lost us games before under Zadkovich - and won us the Mariners grand final when they did it. He has not learned.

Berenguer just brings the team down. His offering is not as good as our starters and he just holds a place on the field rather than being instrumental in our attack and high press.

Klein is fantastic for us. His ability to win balls, hold the ball under pressure, and pick a pass or run with it is lovely to watch.

Brazete for Halloran would have been a much better option - allowing us to keep the pressure on Sydney and stop them all coming forward.

Halloran was probably the most effective I have seen him and when we used his runs in behind what a difference it made. Hore lifted us with his attacking mindset and his finish was top class. Zimarino looked like he belonged on the field - and from me that is a big change. Zabala surprised me - I could not believe he would be able to marshall Lolley at all but he held in there. Going forward he added something too. His recent roles in midfield may have opened up more of his potential and I was really pleased for him.

Jelacic was heavily involved and I am happy to withdraw my concerns about him. He still did not use his pace, but his control and involvement was positive and effective.

Love Burke-Gilroy's talent, engine and enthusiasm. He would be as good as any of our players across the season and consistently better than most.

Herrington is quality with potential. Worth keeping an eye on him.

Freke's distribution was much better tonight with players looking to receive the ball forward. I agree playing the long ball to actual players gives us much better results than playing out from the back mindlessly.

For Sydney - good on them for pushing to the end. I was expecting Kucharski to put the ball in the net again at the end of a match. Sotirio is a prick and always has been. Smacking his forearm across Freke's face is just typical of his scum mindset.

Great to get a win (obviously) but FMD I earned it watching.
RRRRROOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRR Henry Hoar is back baby.... happy for ya bloke watched the highlights when I got back from the South game, looked like a cracker.

Not sure the hate against Talay. Granted I don't watch Sydney as much, but some perspective definitely puts the fact that Talay is not doing an astoundingly shit job. Talay has a higher win percentage at one club than Zadkovich has at his two clubs combined.

I suspect that most people had SFC either 1st or 2nd rather than mid-table. I know I did, I also had MVC higher up. But the season is showing their weaknesses writ large.

The Bulls were very wasteful but they have shown teams how to break down the Nix stingy deep block, but their finishing was poor tonight.

But credit to the Nix for fighting and found a way to score a nice equaliser and Kosta B with all of he’s experience did well to win the penalty and congrats to him for getting to 100 a-league goals he’s had a great career.

Yeah, I suppose he has had 2 seasons to show some real progress and they did show some the last two. They are only 6 points off the top. It's probably good that it's not so easy for Sydney as we want the other clubs to be showing progression too.

He has a very young defensive unit.

I think Talay is doing quite well with them. Of course they will be inconsistent and make mistakes.

nice shot drew and i think that was a nice save onto the post
Drew scored a goal demonstrating skill I hadn't seen before.

He executed a lovely right angled cut, and shot. His main assets has been being in the right place at the right time, and converting goals. Also, he runs with the ball with good balance and speed.
