A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 15

Anyone else notice the cheating tactics of the Adeliade coach jumping up and down at the 4th official for a water break every time Victory scored a goal?. Taking the rhythm out of Victorys game. Again Adelaide win by cheating and a fluke own goal.
Once again Vic played well in the first half, but lost it in the second.

A superb well taken Teague goal, with good team central attacking interplay, in the build up to the goal too.

Mauk's goal was well-taken too, with Kikianis' killer pass as an assist that took two Vic lines out of the game. Mauk adjusted his body shape superbly.

Drew scored a goal demonstrating skill I hadn't seen before.

He executed a lovely right angled cut, and shot. His main assets has been being in the right place at the right time, and converting goals. Also, he runs with the ball with good balance and speed.
Reckon he could have a Mathew leckie style trajectory if he makes the right moves

AU v MV was a top match with both sides attacking all game.AU now top of the table.Teague. and Valadon were great for MV and Mauk was excellent for Adelaide.
Valadon is becoming a midfield general.

Jordi V is one of the best players in the league to maintain possession in build ups from defence to attack. With his fast handling speed and superb distribution it is hard to close him down, when Vic are in possession. He is tackling better, makes better defensive covering runs and shows for the ball better opening better passing lanes to support the ball carrier.

Last week JV executed a really good sliding tackle to dispossess an opponent ball carrying down the Melb Vic left flank. Importantly, he used his non-preferred left foot. It provided him with perfect body position. Many players tackle off their preferred foot, which can be the wrong foot. Players need to tackle with both feet.

And we're stuck with Talay. He didn't do anything that tactically creative in the match against Sydney. Just kept the high press going throughout the match and moved the ball around quickly. I liked those two kids at the back on the right, thought they did well. Would have been a case of the better team losing points if Sydney managed to equalise.

Sydney FC have massive defensive issues no matter who how many changes Talay makes, the squad has been completely unbalanced from the beginning of the season and although Talay isn't playing 5 attacking midfielders and a constant press anymore the fact remains that our defense is non existence. Brisbane aren't a great attacking side but it was basic pass and move football that carved Sydney up like a Christmas turkey last night.
Last week it looked better with Grant playing CB, were he could organise team shape more than at RB.

With so many youngsters playing in the DM line ( when Corey Hollman plays there), and the defensive line, they make mistakes due to inexperience, and, are not as consistent as they will be later in their careers.

Valedon is my first picked each week. I think many pundits haven't switched on to how much of a gem he is. Nothing gets past him, and he's calling the right shots around the park. Would be winning my votes if I had been giving them haha.

Wouldn't be a crazy pick for poppa

Gotta love football. Bottom of the table and no wins - and I am still going into tomorrow's game hoping we'll turn it round and beat Sydney :)

Come on you Roar! We can do this!
Good luck to you and the other Roar fans!

First win!

I identified him as having a good technical skill set for the Young Socceroos last year - after the senior Socceroos were bundled out of the Asian Cup by a decidedly superior South Korean team. I didn't know where Aus was going after that at senior level.

Then I started watching some of the younger whiz gen coming forwards after 10 years of quality French/Dutch/Spanish style coaching from about 10 years old. Jake Hollman, Segecic, Youlley, Farrell, Jelacic, Brook, Milanovic, Villupillay, Natta, Trewin, Talbot come to mind as well as Valadon and the Bos brothers. Now I've seen more of Walatee, Piol, Leonard, Vidmar, Kikianis, Oscar Priestman, Adamson, Drew, Clayton Taylor, Schreiber, Memeti, Archie Goodwin, Alagich, et al, this season.

Would not select Valadon as first pick for Vic - yet.

Would have selected Geria first, until transferred, then Machach, Arzani, Teague and Valadon - all together. Victory should be much higher up the table, but are let down in penalty box goal conversion. Some of the MV central attacking interplay amongst Arzani, Valadon and Machach, plus Bruno, and sometimes Teague, is the best I've seen in the AL.

If Victory & Adelaide support could just be cordial with each other for 90mins it would free up two tarped blocks of prime Coopers viewing space.

It's not just victory and Adelaide it seems to be a football problem all over the world where some fans go crazy

What's up with the draw? Buy the end of Feb Wellington would have played Auckland 3 times and CCM twice etc yet have not played Adelaide once, not until April for there first game away at Coopers.
