They're all pretty much in A League squads but it's a must that they are in the squads and starting. No excuses for crap imports at all.

Which game was the worst so far? They've definitely sorted those issues against Qatar and China. I've not watched thoroughly but the boys just look so poised out there.

Hall had it but geez that would've made things nervous. Hold on!

Assessment, were Japan particularly off tonight? Look forward to watching at back over.

Australia have done it!

Japan looked more organized, had better shape, had incredible and better passing range, but they weren't technically better. What a great thing to say about an aussie team

would've been fatigued by the extra time and 1 less day recovery. But that would probably only affect them the last 30 minutes to be honest. The goal keeper error was a bit of a howler mind you

think we played well with some great skills

We just beat Japan, this is insane!

Well done to the boys, the first time ive seen an Australian team match it with Japan on a technical level and we held our own!

Very impressive result and the football to boot!

For context this tournament has been a first of many, undefeated in the whole tournament, first time ever we beat Japan ever at under 20 level since we joined the AFC.

Incredible stuff!

2025 AFC Under 20 Asian Cup final against Saudi Arabia which will be played on Saturday Night with kickoff time is at 10.30pm AEDT, 10.00pm Adelaide, 9.30pm Brisbane, 9.00pm Darwin, 7.30pm Perth.

also now confirms Young Socceroos will be one of the top four seeds for the 2027 AFC Under 20 Asian Cup and already securing top seeding in the qualifiers after defeated Iraq on the weekend.

Technically, Japan had some real quality but looked shell-shocked at the situation they found themselves in.

2-0 down with three minutes to go and Japan refused to progress the ball without playing 7-8 passes through midfield.

Reminded me of van Marwijk’s complaint in 2018 about Australian players being too disciplined and following the game plan too strictly.

I stand by my earlier comments that this is the best Australian generation I’ve seen in 20+ years.

I absolutely believe Daniel Bennie could play RB/RWB for the Socceroos right now. He is one of the best prospects I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t think there’s a better right back in this country.
