Australian Dual Nationals 🇦🇺🏳️

Born in Sydney, centre-back Markus Walker (2006) holds an 🇦🇺passport but reps Denmark U19. After 10 years at FC Nordsjælland’s academy, he’s now promoted to the main squad. Walker says his family often visits Australia and they have strong emotional ties to the country.

NZ are apparently monitoring the progress of Jets striker Ben Gibson.

Macklin Freke is also eligible for the Kiwi’s but I doubt they’ll call him up anytime soon.

Beckham Baker who has declared his allegiance to East Timor has signed his first pro deal with Melbourne City. He's had an outstanding season with their youth team scoring 11 goals and making 8 assists from attacking midfield.

Yeah but he's not locked into playing for them is he? Looks promising

He will switch to Aus if called up which is fairly likely. He declined a senior callup for asian cup qualifiers for Timor

And I found some more

Turns out that Vrakas has signed for Brisbane. Roar have yet to announce his signing but Atromitos have announced his departure with Brisbane as his destination.

wondering how rugbly league twitter will react

International rugby league is ridiculous, or would be if it wasn't so irrelevant. Players can seemingly hop from one country to another and back again as they please. It's all about the rugby league authorities trying to build interest in internationals, or more specifically push rugby league in the south Pacific islands.

can Australian football be a tier 2 nation like rugby league and have dual nationals play for us anyway :D

I hate it. Origin becoming a pacific islander fest too. If you're not eligible for The Kangaroos then you shouldn't play Origin and once you choose a nation, you play for them. Rugby Union in a bad way not too with Japan so diluted with pacific islanders and Ireland have these blokes too after 5 years of residency.
