Australian politics.

Seems weird. I can see what they are trying to do though.

Well they're short of cash which is why they're doing it.

How about collect royalties instead. Fucking idiots letting them get away with murder.

"In the last four years alone, Australians have given away the gas that made $149 billion worth of LNG, for free," the Australia Institute report said.

"$111 billion worth of this royalty-free LNG was produced in Western Australia."

ACT senator David Pocock said the loss of royalty revenue was "daylight robbery" by "the gas industry that is not paying royalties, (and) not paying petroleum resources rent tax for offshore LNG exports".

"They are absolute leeches," he said.

They collect more from car regos in WA than they do in gas royalties. Fuck me dead.

When Kevin Rudd launched a campaign to tax mining companies their fair share, he was gone in 6 weeks, I think?

Yes.

Which makes you laugh when people that vote coalition whinge about why nothing was ever done about royalties.

The mining lobby and the coalition went to town on Rudd and that was that.

Yes. They went after him hard. Massive campaign which showed how much non-tax paying mining companies contribute to the community blah blah blah, lots of pictures of lush grass, green fields blah blah blah, sporting clubs have to dissolve blah blah blah. Absolutely fucking pathetic. They spent a dump truck full of money and saturated all media etc and eventually Rudd was outsted due to it.

One Nation have doubled their senators in Federal Parliament.

But you people say the Liberals lost because they went too far right. Evidence suggests otherwise.

Tells you who holds the power.

What it shows me is that rather than come together for the betterment of the country the Coalition sold out Australia for cheap political partisanship to cosy up to billionaires who ship profits overseas, pay little tax and rape our resources. Pathetic.

And while we're at it. The government just approved Woodside's proposed 40 year extension and expansion of their gasfields.

Here's where we had them over a fucking barrel and could've dragged some more fucking royalties and taxes, or god forbid, a gas reservation out of them and what did we get exactly? Sweet fuck all. Thanks Albo. Weak as piss.

Soft cock cunce.

...and the ALP doesn't do the same?

Nats must like being the bitches of the coalition. Idiots.

Well what can they do. They'll never form a government in their own right.

The best they can hope for is this hodge-podge of a coalition.

The idiocy of it though is a lot of their policies are more 'traditionally' Labor aligned. A communications guarantee (flat rates no matter where you are), a breakup of the supermarkets, a curb on profits, government built power stations etc etc.

They can't bring themselves to admit it but they're far more socialist leaning than they think.

My father-in-law is a raging anti-lefty and yet all he ever bangs on about is how they never should have sold off the banks, telecom, electricity distribution and how they all should be government owned. Oh and the government should be building more power stations.

Wait?! Isn't that the role of the 'MARKET'? Apparently not when you're a confused FNQ boomer voter.

Can you not fucking read?

isn't that what the ALP has been doing since at least the 1980s?

Why are you always so angry?
