I doubt it will happen but it would be interesting to see Yengi and Waddingham paired up front in a 442 or 352 formation. Both pretty quick and it would be a left-foot, right-foot combination which can be effective. I think they are both quicker than Bishop which may be seen as an advantage if Portsmouth are wanting to play on the counter.
 
Pretty mental seeing our cohort growing at Portsmouth. They've done well with long term prospects before. From their academy when they were broke I remember a few who were babies and then matured. All moved on now and are about 30. It's a good place to earn your stripes.

Summed up my thoughts with some new insights.

Interesting comment about Waddinghams defensive application. Sounds like Duke but a better finisher.

Also interesting that he isn't suitable to get involved much in build-up play.

It's probably not a problem in some systems but wonder how it works in the NT system.

It probably fits how Poppa likes to play. But we already run thin in midfield with a focus on defense everywhere so it would really limit our ability to play on the ball.

That could be seen as leaning into our strengths or be a real problem.

Anyway he's probably a way off the NT atm so not really something to be concerned about now, but interesting to think about.

A very strange move considering CCM offered him a contract at the start of the season but he turned it down wanting more money.

I guess he waited too long and no other A-League clubs were willing to match his self-valuation.

Given how disastrous his stint in Scotland was, I’m kind of surprised any pro club was interested tbh
