English Premier League 🦁

United struggling against Ipswich is so satisfying from a LFC perspective haha, 11th on the ladder and now got to say very decent new gaffa to rebuild after so many before and $$'s. One wonders how long it will take him and will there be patience.
Next 5 games will be interesting how many points by Xmas.
Toffs H
Gooners A
Forest H
City A
Bournemonth H

Brighton in 5th punching above their weight, so good to see.
Forest/Villa level with Spurs, makes for a vibrant challenge for top 6 placings, got NewcastleFulham/Brentford right behind.
10 to top 6 placings are going to be hotly contested all season.

Whereas for relegation long time stayers Eagles are really struggling, Fox's need to get their shit together or right back down Saints I feel have no hope.
Wolves bundled with the above.

In the meantime my Leeds mates are holding their hats now top of the Championship level points with the Black Kats and SU, so so many chapters yet to be written.

we're all a funny lot.
MC have cleaned up for years and supporters lose the plot haha
Pep just resigned for 2 more years not wanting to leave the club in its current terrible state haha Pep say the truth, no where else to go for that kind of $$$ in anycase unless Becks arranges a massive deal like they did for Messi.

talking EPL in another thread about its ogarlords and usual suspects in the top 6 or even 10 - dominance always occurs no matter the eras.
Point is this comp is vibrant top to bottom.
Surprise's happen.
Bottom Clubs with minimal budgets compared to City United can compete on their day.
City has suffered 5 loss's on the bounce, 3 in the EPL against clubs with far less budgets - city as we know virtually have 2 start up squads the way their bench is.
Swings and roundabouts.

Article just read says it well,
"while we’re not going full Anyone Can Beat Anyone In The Best League In The World – these teams have very similar wage bills after all – with Manchester City losing three on the spin while Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Brentford sit above Manchester United, we would suggest that as things stand, other than the team at the top and the team at the bottom (sorry, Southampton), everything looks remarkably uncertain and changeable."

The cream will probably rise to the top and in a few weeks we will no doubt have a Johnny Nic article quite reasonably pointing out the dull predictability of the Premier League with the Big Eight in the top eight and the promoted teams cut adrift from the rest.
"we’re thoroughly enjoying the mid-table stretching from second to 14th, with Manchester City and now West Ham – the latest surprise heroes in a fluctuating 2024/2025 season – separated by just eight points."

How you feeling pre game @LFC?

I just have the feeling, not the hope, that City will put in a shift today. Going to be a game!

A draw for Spurs. Typical stuff yet again. Ah well. Spurs need a solid transfer window to get centre back depth and a few more ball players and one or two scorers.

I really don't think Leicester are going to have a good time with Van Nistelrooy. PSV is basically a cheat mode over there. Good luck to him.

Sorry JS I was with a couple of friends not considering checking the mobile.
I was 50/50 have to say.
I thought if any game city to find their game was against us and Konate out had me worried.
Within 10/12 after koff I was like ok we are going to be hard to beat !
