Pep never got found out at Barca/Bayern for he stayed no more than 4yrs.
Been @ citeh now 8yrs !
Not that I know more than him But unlike Fergi who reigned far longer he recycled his squad alot whereas Pep for eg has hardly refreshed his midfield for sometime, Gudogan, a brilliant and key player for him now at 34 got found out all game by Gravenberch and Macca.
Hence he got subbed 57th min.
Walker/Ake/Silva also off pace in this game - now 6th defeat in 7 games.
Haaland brilliant goal scorer but no work rate there's another carrying player unless the machine works and creates the chances.
The Slot Machine is humming, has beaten 2 foes of late, RM and haven't beaten citeh for 2yrs.


Watched Spurs, they really should have taken the points in the end thanks to the red.
Fulham were better in the 1st half though Son should have scored openning minute.
Forster saved 2 good chances by Jimenez.
Least the result and others helped Spurs to 7th on the ladder.

Ive been saying that about Haaland for 2 years now..... agreed...

Slot ball is certainly working ... so far ...... , lets get to Christmas without dropping points (Shouldnt really, only ManU and Spurs until late Jan anyway) and then the run home will be comfortable and we can focus on UCL. Might be a bumper red year....

Thats the kind of frontman he needs right now whilst they are not dominating possession like they used to.

Slot is running the well oiled machine.
Timing, its wonderful when you see it happenning in front of your eyes.
Look at our evergreens of MO/VVD, 32/33yrs and still smoking it and what leaders for all the other younger ones.
Toon away next is always a tuff game followed by the derby but yer, happy we grind 1nil wins will do through to later Jan.
CL/EFL games in between.
Too much premature hype last season - game to game and hopefully avoid long term injuries.
 
I will always maintain that Pep is not as great as he is made out to be because he has never built anything, nor been made to work with less than what others have had and still achieve success.

His Barca side that everyone raves about was perfect. I think others could have had the same success with that side.
 
yes agree, he's walked into top paying clubs and never had a bitsa side unlike Klopp imo when he sterted at LFC/Dortmund for eg.
The Chosen One as well, barring his early Porto side after that he went to big money gigs and good rosters.
Look what happenned to him once found out, spat dummies, deflected - couldn't look at himself and see he's part of the prob.
OK we/LFC came 3rd last season but Slot sure has walked in - changed the phylosophy with a good canvas and has performed beyond expectations to all.

Im with you here..... most of us on here could have managed that golden Barca squad to success.... even the NC disciples...
 
I've predicted for a while that Pep would burn out at City. He's won everything there is to win there, I don't think he's finished as a manager but he probably needs a new challenge and a new club + new league.

I'm of course aware he's just signed a contract extension, but will he see out the season?

Welcome to the forum!

I believe City will give Pep however much time he needs to turn it around. He would resign before he ever got sacked.

They will give Pep the rope no doubt about it.
Jan window will be his go to big time though I wonder how that will go considering the financial fair play and all other caseā€™s that keep pending on them.
What we will see is what kind of honour he really has after such a rosey winning career.
This is his first huge low hole heā€™s in.
Will stay and fight out of it or bale sooner or later.

Debuted @ 27 in the epl - came through the lower divs.
37 now, his goal last night was typical Vardy and so well placed across the GK.

I'm not saying his a top ten striker but his gotta be up there for consistency and doing it for a non big six team

St James park never an easy game but Hopi g we keep the winning streak going !
Iā€™m viewing from Saudi of all places least respectable 10.30pm koff.
 
Like I said always tuff game against them.
1 down was deserved.
Just hoped HT LFC re grouped and that we did, rippa build play and finish by Jones cracker goal 51st what we needed.

Heaps of goals in the other games

He is to me from nowhere to prem league winner, the bloke is still scoring at the top level in a below average team he has also been very loyal to Leicester when he could have moved on - legend
