From what I can gather (not 100% sure) there was an 'open' spot at the time for one team in Melbourne, and it was kind of expected that it would be a newly created team. But I have a feeling that none of Melbourne NSL teams would be able to compete financially (at the time), then again because the A-League's goal was to appeal to a 'wider' demographic I don't think they were ever going to let a ethnic team in.Were you all not offered to apply for a spot in the initial A-league ? ( Genuine question BTW )
I mentioned NSL not NPL.Could be a you problem mate... I can't speak about the NSL but plenty of non 'wog' fans supporting nsl clubs that play in npl(s).
Go down to a game, there are a million and one clubs who would want another fan!I mentioned NSL not NPL.
I haven't followed that much NPL in recent days.
I follow an A-League club, plus I'm very involved at my local club, both as a coach and part as committee as well as following the 1st team.Go down to a game, there are a million and one clubs who would want another fan!
Yeah we're all just the same. Passionate about football in different waysI follow an A-League club, plus I'm very involved at my local club, both as a coach and part as committee as well as following the 1st team.
I support Manly in the NSW NPL, but I don't go to many games.
Exactly 'passion', something that the newer expansion teams lack. However its good seeing Auckland 2 attract a crowd, but then again they are the only pro team in the city ahah!Yeah we're all just the same. Passionate about football in different ways
There actually plenty of books and articles on the topic matey... It all boils down to a corrupt organisation that let infighting and petty squabbles get in the way of administering a football ecosystem correctly ... nothing different to whats happening in the last days of the Aleague now.But football wasn't exactly thriving with the npl before. I'm m not really sure what happened with the npl downfall (surprised nobody has wrote a book or made a movie on it) I do see the irony with them closing the npl because of fan violence but we still had and get it with a league
There is this thing on the internet called Google.. It really helps if you have genuine question and are sincerely interested in the answer... I doubt both you;re intentions. Were you all not offered to apply for a spot in the initial A-league ? ( Genuine question BTW )
Exactly right Sutho thats what the Aleague used as a marketing tool "fuck them" !!!! its so gratifying seeing all the angst about how shit the Aleague is doing now... FUCK YOU RIGHT BACK.You just know that won't go down well with the usual trolls on here. But, fuck them.
Like I GAF what you think my intentions are. There is this thing on the internet called Google.. It really helps if you have genuine question and are sincerely interested in the answer... I doubt both you;re intentions.
Don't bother mate... Robbo has been using this excuse for years.... Im not sure what the right kind of "effnicity" he needed to be to attend aCould be a you problem mate... I can't speak about the NSL but plenty of non 'wog' fans supporting nsl clubs that play in npl(s).
You give enough of a fuck to reply though????Like I GAF what you think my intentions are.
It’s a forum, it’s what you do. Try googling it.You give enough of a fuck to reply though????
You mean the ONE Aleague spot in Melbourne that the FFA self funded until they could find an investor for because two existing Melbourne clubs where reportedly "politely" advised "those club's will never be in the Aleague" Or do you7 mena the 5 times since then South Melbourne has applied????From what I can gather (not 100% sure) there was an 'open' spot at the time for one team in Melbourne, and it was kind of expected that it would be a newly created team. Conveniently forgetting that Frank, himself was a wog.Don't bother mate... Robbo has been using this excuse for years.... Im not sure what the right kind of "effnicity" he needed to be to attend a
Perth Glory, Parramatta, Adelaide, Strikers, Spirit, Wolves, Newcastle match???
Maybe they just never even knew that soccer existed as sport before 2005 and , since they already couldn't stand that the uppity wogsies even existed in this country, it was easy to go along with Lowy's appartheid?
I would include Football Kingz but they are the acceptable kind of wogs to some of these fools... 13 clubs in the final year of NSL and they "didn't feel welcome" to 5 of them sounds like a whole lot of bullshit to me.

Whose club, despite being an absolute powerhouse on the pitch, drew crowds less than WU and Macarthur and ultimately withdrew from the NSL with their tails between their legs.. Last straw was when the other wogs didnt let Frankie run the place..... hell hath no fury than a Hungarian Jew on the revenge path eh?Conveniently forgetting that Frank, himself was a wog.
I am well aware of Mr Lowy’s connections wth both Sydney city and Sydney FC. I have no problems with genuine wogs, only the pretend ones.Whose club, despite being an absolute powerhouse on the pitch, drew crowds less than WU and Macarthur and ultimately withdrew from the NSL with their tails between their legs.. But you "conveniently" didn't know that eh Sutho? You also didnt know that Sydney FC was "owned" by the very same wog in the early days and everyone else involved in soccer called is Hakoa dismissively?
FFS I get some of the soft head, post 2006 kids hating on the NSL because thats what the marketing told them to do but its people who know the real story and chose to twist it around who really shit me.
Sure matey but you also have to understand, 20 years ago there were young blokes just like you that ALSO just wanted to go to the games and didn't care about the suits .... That was just taken away from us .... Isn't it natural that we would want to know why?Fair enough but you gotta understand young blokes like me we're just gonna go to the games we don't care about the suits we want to see the players. So we have a divide now that can't get fixed
Well thank heavens for your tolerance and good graces.I am well aware of Mr Lowy’s connections wth both Sydney city and Sydney FC. I have no problems with genuine wogs, only the pretend ones.
