Evidence would clearly point at Melbourne Victory fans being those involved though. There's no issue where both sets of fans are involved.

If this was the case, away fans would run amok at many games, for the home team to face sanctions.

I’m not at all suggesting it wasn’t Victory fans running onto the pitch. It was.

But many of them were fans that already had ban orders. For the life of me, I don’t understand how it was the fault of MVFC that they were able to enter the stadium at an away game… especially when we hear facial recognition technology is used… and on a day where people were so fired up.

Well.. to be honest, that's like saying a suspended driver shouldn't be punished by the courts because they shouldn't have been on the road in the first place.

I'd expect there to be sanctions for both in that case, not neither.

Yep! They'd want to get that new stadium built pretty quickly! Can't see it happening though. They seem happy enough at Mt Smart.
Their own stadium? Or one shared with Warriors in the NRL to replace Mt Smart?

In the UK, one of the raft of measure the police did for those on banning orders, is ask the offenders to report to the police station at a specific time on the day of a match, and if they didn't they would be arrested on sight or get their collar felt later asking why they didn't attend and the consequences of not attending ranged from fines to being locked up. Wether you agree or disagree with it, that tactic sure works well for keeping so called risk fans in line.

I didn't know until now how much the media own NRL clubs. What a leg up that is!

News Corp - 69% of Brisbane Broncos
James Packer - 25% of South Sydney
WIN Corp - 50% of St George

Some heavy hitters at Souths. Packer 25%, Crowe 37.5%, Cannon-Brookes 25%

My undies expanded just then. I take it that the men's comp will be at 13 teams again next season. I'm rethinking my subscription actually with Para +, so there..

Well, Marconi is an Italian background club, some people would be scared of the Cosa Nostra………
Remember that scene in Godfather ( one I think ) where the leave-the-cannoli guy is showing Al Pacino how to cook pork and beef in a pot for twenty guys.

Therefore I'm fine as a 100% Strayan attending Marconi and eating at their delicious trattoria.

My comment was in jest……
