Sure matey but you also have to understand, 20 years ago there were young blokes just like you that ALSO just wanted to go to the games and didn't care about the suits .... That was just taken away from us .... Isn't it natural that we would want to know why?

Would you, in the hypothetical reverse scenario where the Aleague folds drastically and a whole new league is set up in Australia that permanently excludes Melbourne City from ever rising above state league.... just pick and new team and forget about the old???
Yeah I understand completely got no issue with you guys 👍

Have auckland played every game so far except 1 in NZ? That's a rort

Don't bother mate... Robbo has been using this excuse for years.... Im not sure what the right kind of "effnicity" he needed to be to attend a

Perth Glory, Parramatta, Adelaide, Strikers, Spirit, Wolves, Newcastle match???

Maybe they just never even knew that soccer existed as sport before 2005 and , since they already couldn't stand that the uppity wogsies even existed in this country, it was easy to go along with Lowy's appartheid?

I would include Football Kingz but they are the acceptable kind of wogs to some of these fools... 13 clubs in the final year of NSL and they "didn't feel welcome" to 5 of them sounds like a whole lot of bullshit to me.

I'm sorry my experience upsets you, this is my experience and many of my friends, who have been following football in this country passionately way before you were born.
You post a table of the last days of the NSL, I'm talking of the whole experience of the NSL.
However, just like your posts on the A-League, you think everyone has to think like you. This is not how the world works.

We are both Football fans, you call it soccer, I call it football, it doesn't matter, get over it, we see it differently.

You mean the ONE Aleague spot in Melbourne that the FFA self funded until they could find an investor for because two existing Melbourne clubs where reportedly "politely" advised "those club's will never be in the Aleague" Or do you7 mena the 5 times since then South Melbourne has applied????
I legit had no Idea Victory was FFA self funded. I would love it if there is some hero out there that can dig up some old memos / letters / emails from '04 regarding who gets the Melbourne a-league spot, would love to know the kinda language they used haha!

There actually plenty of books and articles on the topic matey... It all boils down to a corrupt organisation that let infighting and petty squabbles get in the way of administering a football ecosystem correctly ... nothing different to whats happening in the last days of the Aleague now.
I know its a fake sport, but wrestling makes the corruption squabling and infighting part of the show

why can't we find a way to do that :D

Exactly 'passion', something that the newer expansion teams lack. However its good seeing Auckland 2 attract a crowd, but then again they are the only pro team in the city ahah!
Not for long they won't be - depending how much Auckland City FC pocket for themselves...
Word is some/most of the NZD$85m is being split amongst NZF and other clubs in the country.

Well, Marconi is an Italian background club, some people would be scared of the Cosa Nostra………

Some of us will NEVER forget mate .

Not at all mate, your experiience doesnt upset me in the least, I feel sorry for you in a way... As a "died in the wool" Sydney FC fan did you ever watch them when they were Sydney City (I mean surely even you can't tell me they were too Jewish in the 80's) or what about Northern Spirit, that was in your neck of the woods no??
OK You've made your point you would NEVER consider going to Marconi or Sydney United or Olympic, fair enough, but why not support a "mainstream" club?

I really dont get your point of view at all?

robbos, hope you had a good round last week ?
Haven't played for a couple of weeks due to a biz trip.
Did you ever venture to Fraser back in the days instead of NSL ? maybe I asked before.

I luved heading to Greekville as it was back then, Fraser had that good ground I think orginally Mackey Park ? before moving to the Railway yards to date.
A fellow Div 1 mate used to play for them.
Christ I have become a Madeira Club member of late lol.....

Well less bucketman and more the aftermath og having fans locked out and osm disbanded?

If not that, what was it? And how do they come back?

Yeah, along those lines. The club didn't appeal the onerous sanctions on the fans that did nothing that day. Basically FA grouped all of us as criminals and MVFC chose to throw us under the bus instead of stand up for us.

So hypothetical, if victory appealed and fought the sanctions but lost (as I would expect they would) would fans have remained or would that just mean fans go from boycotting victory to boycotting the league?

I don't think we would have lost. What is forgotten in all of this is that it wasn't our home game and Melbourne Victory were not responsible for who entered the stadium on that day. I'm not a legal expert, but I'd imagine the sanctions would have been thrown out in court had there been a legal challenge.

Are you aware of how many hoops we had to jump to get tickets to home games for the rest of the season? Members weren't able to scan their memberships at the gate. It was an onerous process that discouraged people from attending. Many members were short changed financially as a result. It was overreach and it should have been fought.

Evidence would clearly point at Melbourne Victory fans being those involved though. There's no issue where both sets of fans are involved.

If this was the case, away fans would run amok at many games, for the home team to face sanctions.
