Aww yeah. Don't get me wrong. IDGAF about why they are watching, just watch. But what I was saying was it's not people deciding not to come because it's on YouTube. Me, personally, I go. I try and get my numbers up on Futbology.

It's just some Persian dude on a VPN betting his life away because there are no regulations or support services. Not my problem my guy.
HAhahahahha I love trying to distract the "dodgy Asian Betting" guy and his tablet of doom at every match :P

"Don't give up, bro, I have seen them do this before! Keep watching." "I have seen this team and I reckon it will be 2.5+, watch until the end."

Even at the grounds, one out-of-place dude is always on their phone, and we all know.
I like to sit behind him and throw little tidbits "Hmm I wonder why South Melbourne forfeited the game today and St Albans is playing Knights at Lakeside?" or when the dude looks away for a few seconds -- "can't believe the ref dished out two yellows so quickly" hahahahah

Well why doesn't the npl get good attendance/viewership now then and do you think honestly think If they were the number one competition they would do better?
Probably not but with one or two exceptions the A League franchises aren't setting the world on fire either.....

We're close to 2 decades of the A League franchise competition and its barely made any inroads into the hearts and minds of Australia's sporting public. And therefore I'd bet that most, if not all in the A League franchise competition is losing bundles of money running these franchises.

So a more community based state competitions with proper functioning football clubs might well prove a better option. I'd prefer it to the current model which let's be honest going nowhere......

It hardly produces any decent players let alone a fully integrated sports competition with fans that want to follow it!!

Great theme tune for the A League franchise competition!

Aaaaaahahahahahaha fucking love it. Or something like that "Yes! They didn't question the ref about the 5 yellows last week and he is here again this week!"

Well the a league was hot at one stage there have been heaps of fuck ups to get us to where we are now. If the npl took over they would have the same problems imo it's a problem that affects the sport more then the specific league

Well actively shutting out 1/2 of the sports fanbase in Australia didnt do them any favours... AT least the NPL will Never do that.

With all due respect the majority who made the AL popular in its early days were show people - we’ve mentioned in another thread about many people here like going to shows and that it was, neutrals and mixed bag of football supporter hopefuls like me for where are they since the declines long before APL take over.
As mentioned shutting out the huge pool of die hard supporters and Clubs is the anvil that to this day hurting the game to grow to the potentials it could.

So carry on as is with the franchises then?

But football wasn't exactly thriving with the npl before. I'm m not really sure what happened with the npl downfall (surprised nobody has wrote a book or made a movie on it) I do see the irony with them closing the npl because of fan violence but we still had and get it with a league

Tbh the only comparison of 2 is crowd issues have gone through the same - and that is targeted by the media first and foremost.
The irony the ethnics were to blame so let’s cleanse and ban the NPL clubs and here we are even non ethnics behave the same hahaha
As for crowd comparisons it’s not like for like.
NSL had no where the backing and marketing AL had into the mainstream therefore it showing what a so so model you have today.
Business cannot survive as such for that’s what it is.
NPL still survives whereas how can a franchise survive without people walking through the gates week in week out how it’s structured in stads that cost a bomb and the list goes on and on.
Yep way back didn’t end up successful but it never got the leg up AL had.

Fair enough but you gotta understand young blokes like me we're just gonna go to the games we don't care about the suits we want to see the players. So we have a divide now that can't get fixed
