General 2024/5 A League Men's thread

I really hope the fact they moved the Australian cup qualifiers to may means they will start the a league season earlier next season. October is way to late and a six month off season just kills momentum

There is not a chance in fuck, that Australians can hold focus on a 9–10-month season. They are just not equipped to deal with it.

yep, people going on about crowd numbers can you imagine lol......let alone playing each other 3/4 times and the bye currently lol.....

I've been pushing for a September start for years. We will have no choice when we expand to 16 teams.
 
I never understood why the season has to start in October, surely as a sport it’s time they grow up and do what’s best for the sport and start earlier say in August or September.

The eggball codes don’t care about the global challenges football has to deal with its own calendar anyway.

It seems we are more obsessed about crowd numbers than the football on the pitch compared to countries from overseas lol.

Ground availability is the concern, especially the state of the pitches in winter/ autumn.

As a thought - Tigers have now confirmed out west is their home and Commbank, what about Leichardt and Concord used as alternatives not that it matters much to me but matter of subject.

Fair points however I just feel the APL need to think outside of the square in how this league can grow even further without putting an limit to it.

We need a longer season and more games if we want this league to be its best version of itself, it’s simply as that.

Pro-rel as much as we need it is a more longer term goal.

After the 4 years we had away from Moore park, i will never step foot in Leichhardt or Kogarah again. They were simply depressing places to watch football. Allianz, even with 11,000 was far superior to these bog standard shiteholes.
