NPL 2025

Led to believe the ffv will be covering the security costs of Preston v Heidelberg next week.

The word is the concern all along has been the realistic possibility of a certain MV sub section gatecrashing the match and causing trouble with Preston...as they attempted to do numerous times last season.

Sounds like Heidelberg doesnt want the blowback as hosts if it all kicks off.

Hopefully Horda and associated clowns stay away...beginning tomorrow night. Big 3 weeks coming up.

Folks, I’ve put together a little something that I thought I’d share. I love Australian football as a whole, and I’m always interested in the pyramid and how the football nation is shaping up week to week. But clicking through tables one after the other throughout the pyramid starts to add up and gets a bit tedious.

So, I’ve collated all the tables for the top four tiers and put them into one simple web page. No fancy bells and whistles, just tables. It’s also an easy way to get the lay of the land and all the teams in line for the promotion/relegation battles and Championship contenders. And I also hope it makes it easier for newcomers to get interested in our football system and adopt a club!

If you’re interested, check it out and let me know your feedback. I’m not 100% on all the pro/rel/playoff spots for this season, so tell me if anything needs changing or spot any errors. I’ll update it throughout the season around once a week, after the weekend. It's free and done with love. I wanted to do a retro style 90s teletext version but I'm not that talented haha, and it would probably be getting away from the simplicity of it (not that it's simple to get all this together). Link below and in my signature for easy access.

There's been too many stories and reasons about why the game has been changed to HOTM.

Hopefully the board of Heidelberg, Preston and FV meeting today can settle this situation once and for all and we can get an official media press about the matter.

Just looking forward to a good game of football between two sides who haven't played each other in over a decade. Preston looking strong and Heidelberg looking not too shabby either. Hopefully us football fans are in for a treat.

FV requested Heidelberg v Preston at Home Of The Matildas and was not the request of Heidelberg despite what has been said.

I'd be curious to see if the return fixture will also be at the HOTM.

This is apparently due to FV seeing this fixture as a "high risk game". I wonder if other "high risk game's" will also be hosted at the HOTM.

Also rumour is that Heidelberg were advised to pay for 40 security guards at $50 an hour for a minimum of 4 hours. By request of the FV.

Well said... As much as Id relish the opportunity to lay the boot into the Burgers.... it DOES seem like they are as much a passenger in this as anyone else... WHY FV cant just make sure that any know (and supposedly banned) Aleague arseholes are prevented from entry to the ground is beyond me... How much MORE damage is the Aleague going to do to soccer in this country?

That cup night i honestly can't state how awesome it was to see south fans turn around and basically tell them to gtfo.

Also we knew who it was within 2 seconds anyway

I honestly pray Monday night goes off without a hitch for you guys🙏
Man you know what, its comments like this that give some small glimmer of hope for our game....

I hope the Bergers shit gets sorted out and you get to go to the village for a souv... we cant keep being hostage to the 15 year old plastics that wanna chance to relive their parents past glories by loading up titktoks of 3 little girls swinging handbags. .

Is great!

Feedback from what I've seen across my pyramid travels:
  • As far as I'm aware, FQPL2 does have relegation down to FQPL3 (but the actual structure of that, I'll have to confirm)
  • ACT's Capital League doesn't have relegation down to CLO1 (although I believe CLO1 <> CLO2 does, but depends on which club finishes last, as at this stage, these are essentially 3rd/4th grades of some of the bigger NPL/CPL clubs
  • WA - I don't believe has relegation from SL2 to the WA Amateur Leagues, but would have to confirm.

who would of thought spirit would be 3 from 3, knocking off blacktown and now APIA in the process.
your telling me ! I can't recall how long its been APIA losing @ home like that ! :(
Considering many other scores were low or draws like FM haha
Highlight is all franchise U23's got done.

Looks like it been decided then?

Maybe poetry is more your calling than football. I think you missed the boat with the late 2000's emo phase. Thank God for the Lakers. Carrying Aus football on their shoulders.
Maybe it is ... Here Ill write you special poem:

Do they still call you the Victory when you lose?
Do they still call you the Victory when you lose?
When your dreams go up in smoke
Cos your franchise is a joke
Do they still call you the Victory when you lose?????????

The game really is screwed with ppl like you involved thats for sure.. but im sooo glad your in the aleague part of it!

Lets get "Your" relaities in order shall we:

1. Your deepest-darkest fear remains SMFC .... even after all this time... if this isnt proof to all as to who the biggest club is (despite your best efforts mind you), i dont know what is!

Regarding your franchise:
2. Your best years were either under a loyal SMFC son (Ange)... or a backroom full of smfc proteges (trimmers, durakovic and and and)

3. Your claim to fame will be nothing more than a vile (non ethinc thank god) mainstream pitch invasion!

4. Your crowds are dwindelling quicker than your finances and your plastic league! Even if you refuse to admit it bc deep down it hurts soooo much that you need to deflect to feel better!

5. You will never be "a club" but a franchise! And we can understand how that hurts inside...but you can always go pretend your lotalty was always with preston even during those dark relegation years when it goes pearshaped... bc we all know for you its all about supporting the "most followed club" apparently.. ...this alone tells all of your footballing knowledge and scope!

6. Fact remains you will always be nothing more than pretenders, like you have been for all these years, for one simple reason, to be the best you need to beat the best!

Consider yourself enlightened... Well, as much as a feeble mind allows for anyway!!!
Don't forget St Kev :)

A friend of mine's son plays for Spirit, he texted me during the match to say " APIA are shithouse " which is something I never thought I'd hear all things con$idering.

Smashing a bunch of academy kids ( ccm ) doesn't really count for much it seems.

no it doesn't EZ, how the cookie crumbles sometimes thats football.
Spirit is a good well run Club I know it very well.
They have recruited well through the off season and for just their 2/3rd year in top flight good on them though early days.

Mentionning academy teams I'm far against it - its not fair to them or the league.
Sure I get its great to blood in young fellas but not this way, you earn your way UP but more so your squad should be like the rest mixed of young un's and experienced wily fox's.
Thats how the young ones really learn more playing comp games with some seasoned players around them who guide/lead in the tuff times of pressure games.
